Director of Marketing
Advent is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Marketing to lead all B2B marketing efforts. This role is responsible for elevating brand presence, driving qualified lead generation, and positioning the agency as a thought leader in its core markets.The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist and doer-capable of shaping brand voice and long-term marketing vision while also executing campaigns, optimizing digital channels, and managing day-to-day performance. This leader will oversee a Marketing Coordinator and manage a budget to maximize ROI and support business development goals.RequirementsStrategic LeadershipPartner with the SVP of Marketing to define and execute a comprehensive B2B marketing strategy aligned with agency growth goalsDevelop annual marketing plans, KPIs, and budget allocation strategiesAlign marketing efforts with sales objectives to drive measurable pipeline growthBrand Strategy & MessagingOwn and evolve the agency's brand positioning, voice, and messaging frameworkEnsure consistency across all marketing channels and touchpointsCollaborate with agency leadership to refine value proposition and thought leadership themesDigital Marketing & Website OversightOversee website strategy, content, performance optimization, and ongoing enhancementsLead SEO strategy development and implementation (technical, on-page, and content-driven)Monitor analytics and conversion performance to continuously improve resultsManage external partners or tools as needed to support optimization effortsContent & Social MediaDevelop and oversee content strategy including case studies, thought leadership, blogs, and campaign materialsLead B2B social media strategy (LinkedIn-first, with supporting platforms as appropriate)Establish a content calendar aligned with agency priorities and industry trendsLead Generation & Outbound MarketingDesign and execute outbound marketing campaigns targeting priority sectorsDevelop targeted email campaigns and nurture flowsImplement lead capture and marketing automation best practicesIndustry Visibility & ConferencesLead strategy for industry conference participation, sponsorships, and speaking opportunitiesIdentify and pursue thought leadership placements and award submissionsDevelop supporting materials and activation strategies to maximize ROI from eventsBudget & Team ManagementManage annual marketing budget with clear ROI accountabilityOversee and mentor Marketing CoordinatorManage external vendors, freelancers, and technology platformsQualifications8-12+ years of B2B marketing experience, preferably within a creative agency, professional services, architecture/design, or consulting environmentProven experience driving measurable lead generation and sales pipeline growthStrong understanding of SEO, website performance optimization, and marketing analyticsExperience managing industry conferences and thought leadership initiativesExcellent writing and messaging skills with the ability to articulate complex value propositions clearlyDemonstrated ability to manage budgets strategically and efficientlyExperience supervising at least one direct reportComfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
