Writer Technical
Position Summary:The Centralized Publications Writer Technical edits and writes content for the JetBlue manual system and distributes publications to targeted Crewmembers. All work is done using Centralized Publications authoring tools and the distribution repository. All publications are maintained to established standards.Essential Responsibilities:Writes, edits and updates written content for company manuals.Reviews and edits technical policy and procedural documents, ensuring that the documents are logically constructed, clearly presented, and in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards as stated.Acquires and presents information through independent reading, interviews with subject-matter experts, online research, or other appropriate methods.Independently develops, organizes, and presents thoughts and information clearly in writing.Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation.Consults with Supervisor Operations Publications on unique situations which do not have clear precedents.Tracks project status using departmental procedures and toolsOther duties as assignedMinimum Experience and Qualifications:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)Excellent, proven technical and business writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skillsOne (1) year of technical writing experienceUnderstanding of XML and/or HTMLExcellent Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skillsAbility to contribute in a team environment and work on several projects simultaneouslyAvailable for occasional overnight travel (10%)Must pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAuthorization to work in the US is required. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
