This role will focus on building, automating, and maintaining on-premises and hybrid environments , while supporting CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and infrastructure optimization. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing traditional server environments as well as modern automation and containerization tools.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for on-prem and hybrid applications.\r\nManage and support on-premises infrastructure including physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).\r\nAutomate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell .\r\nMaintain and improve system performance, scalability, and reliability across dev/test/prod environments.\r\nCollaborate with development teams to streamline code deployment, version control, and release management.\r\nMonitor system health, implement proactive alerts, and ensure uptime through observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).\r\nManage and optimize container orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes (on-prem or hybrid).\r\nSupport security hardening, patching, and compliance initiatives.\r\nAssist with cloud integrations (AWS, Azure, or GCP) as the organization evolves to hybrid models.\r\nTroubleshoot system and application issues and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.\r\nQualifications\r\nRequired\r\n5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer , Systems Engineer , or related infrastructure automation role.\r\nHands-on experience managing on-premises environments (VMware, bare-metal, Windows/Linux servers).\r\nProficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).\r\nExperience with scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).\r\nFamiliarity with networking fundamentals , DNS, load balancing, and security best practices.\r\nSolid experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).\r\nPreferred\r\nExperience with hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\r\nKnowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.\r\nExposure to Kubernetes, Docker, Helm , or other container platforms.\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.\r\nRelevant certifications (AWS, Azure, RHCE, DevOps Professional, etc.) are a plus.\r\nKavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
