This role plays a central part in maintaining a secure environment through patrol, monitoring, dispatch, emergency response, and administrative duties.\n\nThis role is well‑suited for individuals with experience in:\n\nSecurity operations or shift leadership\n\nLaw enforcement, fire safety, or military service\n\nYouth programs, mentoring, or residential environments\n\nSafety compliance or emergency response\n\nInvestigations, incident reporting, and monitoring systems\n\nYou will work closely with center leadership, law enforcement, residential teams, and transportation staff while ensuring a safe, structured environment. Your work directly impacts student safety, campus security, emergency readiness, and operational consistency.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nSecurity, Patrol, and Safety Enforcement\n\nPatrol buildings and grounds; check doors, windows, lighting, locks, appliances, and emergency equipment.\n\nTest fire systems and intrusion alarms and report any malfunctions.\n\nRespond to fire alarms; assist in suppressing fires and reset alarm equipment.\n\nSet up, monitor, and verify the operation of intrusion alarm systems.\n\nEnforce federal laws, state statutes, and center rules to maintain peace and safety.\n\nProvide gate/desk coverage; verify identification; ensure proper check‑in/check‑out procedures.\n\nMaintain student accountability and monitor campus movement.\n\nIncident Response, Investigation, and Reporting\n\nConduct searches, seizures, and confiscation of contraband in accordance with center policy.\n\nAssist staff and law enforcement in controlling disturbances or emergency situations.\n\nPrepare incident reports, preliminary investigations, and accident documentation.\n\nAudit shift logs, paperwork, and reports prior to submission to the Security/Transportation Manager.\n\nMaintain detailed records of findings, corrective actions, and safety concerns.\n\nTransportation and Emergency Support\n\nTransport students for routine or emergency purposes.\n\nAssist in transporting ill or injured students, staff, or individuals to medical facilities.\n\nStudent Interaction and Culture Support\n\nInform staff and students of unsafe conditions or practices.\n\nModel, mentor, and reinforce the center’s positive normative culture.\n\nReport unethical behavior and support continuous improvement efforts.\n\nOperations and Accountability\n\nServe as custodian for assigned center property.\n\nSuggest improvements that reduce waste and strengthen daily operations.\n\nIdentify and report environmental health and safety concerns.\n\nMaintain a 75% or higher on employee scorecard.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required\n\nAssociate degree in criminal justice desirable (may substitute for experience)\n\nExperience\n\nTwo years of related experience required\n\nPrior management or leadership experience desirable\nSkills and Competencies\n\nAbility to model and promote the Career Success Standards (CSS)\n\nStrong organizational skills\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nValid chauffeur’s or driver’s license with acceptable record\n\nValid I‑9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States\n\nMust pass post‑offer background check and drug test\n\nThis job description is not an exhaustive list of duties and may be adjusted as needed.
