Reporting to the Shipping Manager, this person will be responsible for pulling and packing orders, loading and unloading trucks / flatbeds and making sure the product is secure and safe.\nThe ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior success as a Loader or equivalent position at Atkore International and experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.\nWhat you’ll do:\nAdditional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nKnows and follows plant safety rules and wears proper PPE\nKnows and follows yard and dock loading/unloading safety rules and procedures\nAble to locate, accurately count, and package products for shipment\nInspect products and packaging for damage\nPackage, palletize and bundle product for shipment using means appropriate for method of transportation\nProficient with all sorts of material handling and packaging devices including forklifts, pallet jacks, and banders\nCycle count product\nAccurately receive and record inbound freight shipments\nCorrectly identify and put away purchased/manufactured fittings\nAware of overstock areas\nLoad out customer will call’s and other docked van freight\nUnload product from flatbeds and docked van freight\nAble to correctly tie downloaded flat racks\nPacking accuracy must be at or exceed an acceptable level\nPerform general warehouse duties and cleanup\nAll other assigned duties\nWhat you’ll bring:\nHigh school diploma, or equivalent strongly preferred\nExcellent interpersonal and communications skills\nGood understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations\nHigh attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization\nShows initiative\nMust be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner\nMust be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment\nAble to lift 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.\nWithin 3 months, you’ll:\nunderstand our Safety Culture\nYou will learn the basic duties of your job\nunderstand how to promote to the next level of operator\nWho we are:\nAtkore is a recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification and a Top Workplaces USA award!
