Connect Search has partnered with a growing real estate company in search of an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all payroll operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for corporate and field employees - hourly and salaried, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.This position values hands-on experience over formal education, and we welcome candidates with strong payroll backgrounds regardless of degree status.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end payroll processing (weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly) for corporate staff and on-site property employees (500+)Ensure accurate calculation of wages, commissions, bonuses, and deductionsMaintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsOversee multi-state payroll, including tax filings and reporting requirementsCoordinate with HR and accounting teams on employee data, benefits, and reportingHandle payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end processes (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)Manage timekeeping systems and ensure accurate tracking of hours workedResolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries in a timely mannerStay up to date on payroll laws, tax changes, and compliance requirementsAssist with process improvements and implementation of payroll systems or upgradesQualificationsNo degree required; equivalent work experience strongly valued5+ years of payroll experience, this will be an independent contributor roleExperience processing payroll for multi-location or multi-state organizations (real estate or hospitality preferred)Strong knowledge of Workday would be a plusFamiliarity with property management payroll structures (hourly staff, maintenance teams, leasing commissions, etc.) is a plusSolid understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirementsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to handle sensitive information with confidentialityProficiency in Excel and payroll reporting tools
