Engineering Tech Lead
About the RoleWe're looking for an Engineering Tech Lead to join our Enterprise & Store Technology team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend about 40 50% of your time coding, while also guiding the team on design, architecture, and delivery.You'll play a key role in driving end-to-end development, partnering closely with product and business teams, and ensuring we're building scalable, high-quality solutions.We're also evolving how we build software so we're looking for someone who's comfortable leveraging modern AI tools (like GitHub Copilot) and can help introduce smarter, more efficient ways of working across the engineering team.What You'll Be DoingDelivery & ExecutionLead projects end-to-end from design through deployment and production supportDrive code quality through reviews, best practices, and performance optimizationEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with our architectureTechnical LeadershipGuide and mentor engineers, helping elevate overall team capabilityProvide direction on design decisions and implementation approachesWork across teams and vendors to ensure smooth integration and deliveryAI & Engineering EfficiencyHelp the team adopt tools like GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development toolsLook for opportunities to improve delivery speed through automation (testing, documentation, etc.)Explore ways to incorporate AI-driven features into applications where it makes senseCollaborationPartner closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutionsWork with offshore teams and vendors to keep delivery on trackHelp resolve dependencies and unblock teams quicklyQuality & OperationsTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issuesEnsure applications perform reliably in productionSupport releases, UAT, and continuous improvements post-launchWhat We're Looking ForTechnical SkillsStrong full-stack development experienceFrontend: React or AngularBackend: Node.js, Java, or PythonExperience building microservices and APIs (REST/JSON)Strong background in cloud environments (AWS preferred)Solid SQL and database experienceLeadership & ApproachExperience leading or mentoring engineersComfortable owning delivery from start to finishStrong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teamsNice to HaveExperience using AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) in development workflowsExposure to building data-driven or intelligent featuresBackground in retail or omni-channel environmentsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)12+ years of experience in software development2+ years in a technical leadership roleExperience working in enterprise-scale, cloud-based environmentsWork AuthorizationCandidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).
