The Lavender Fund supports patients going to the DuPont Clinic which opened in Washington, DC in 2017 with the goal of changing the way reproductive healthcare is delivered. Since that time, the clinic has cared for over 3,000 patients, more than half of whom were seeking abortion care after 24 weeks gestation. DuPont is recognized for excellence in patient-centered care and has earned a reputation in the reproductive health community for helping other clinics grow and improve their care.\n\nDuPont Clinic has never turned away a patient for lack of ability to pay for care. In 2023, the Lavender Fund was created to help patients pay for their abortion care. The DuPont Clinic is one of only a handful of clinics in the country specializing in second and third trimester abortion care, and many of their patients come because they are unable to be seen at other clinics. Patients in this circumstance cannot wait to receive care while we seek the funds to help pay for their procedure. In other words, if DuPont cannot see them, they may be forced to continue their pregnancies.\n\n*About the Position*\n\nThis position is ideal for a creative, self-directed, and highly motivated development professional who can work independently, and who is seeking an opportunity to come in at the ground level to help build, manage, and optimize the operations that are crucial to creating a thriving and adaptable development operation rooted in best practices. This role will require managing the day-to-day administrative needs of a small fundraising program, including gift entry, the acknowledgement process, and meeting scheduling. In addition, the Program Manager will provide logistical support for events, donor visits, and board meetings.\n\nThis position reports to the board of directors and will work closely with a two-person development consulting team.\n\n*Job Responsibilities Include:*\n\n* Management of the development database (Quickbase), including strategic optimization of all of the software’s features, many not currently in use.\n* Management of Givebutter online fundraising software.\n* Support the creation and execution of development operations policies and procedures.\n* Data clean-up and ongoing hygiene.\n* Gift entry, tracking, and reporting.\n* Managing activity related to gift acknowledgement and ensuring timely acknowledgment of all philanthropic contributions.\n* Manage social media platforms, printed material, email marketing, and website content updates.\n* Key logistical support for events, including managing invitation and guest lists, material creation, and vendor relationships.\n* Serve a project manager for institutional fundraising efforts including, informing and engaging key staff of upcoming opportunities, ensuring all proposal and reporting deadlines are met, and gathering requested supplemental materials and budgets.\n* Creating and adapting financial reports for all purposes including proposals and reports to funders.\n* Working with the organization’s leadership to support operational needs as they relate to fundraising.\n* Timely and effective coordination and communication with DuPont Clinic’s funding and billing teams.\n* Support with grant applications and reporting.\n\n*Desired Skills, Characteristics and Experience:*\n\nIdeal candidates will have experience in general development operations, experience managing development databases, and experience with foundation and individual fundraising processes and systems. We are seeking candidates who are highly organized self-starters; ambitious and creative; confident problem solvers; and are comfortable in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates should have:\n\n* Minimum of 3 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, specifically with development operations.\n* High level of organization, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and help others to do the same.\n* A collaborative spirit as well as the ability to work independently and make thoughtful, informed decisions.\n* Ability to meet deadlines independently and manage time effectively\n* A deep commitment to the ideals of the reproductive justice movement, including a belief that everyone deserves access to affordable, non-judgemental, and the highest quality abortion care.\n* Experience with graphic design platforms such as Canva or similar.\n\nThe Program Manager position will be a remote independent contractor position paid hourly at $40-50 per hour depending on experience.
