Job Title: Seasonal Grounds and Maintenance Positions for Wyoming State Fair The Wyoming State Fair is searching for summer, seasonal grounds, and maintenance positions for the Wyoming State Fairgrounds. These positions will perform various tasks, including cleaning and general maintenance in barns, equine and livestock stables, exhibit buildings, dormitories, restrooms, and outside grounds. General maintenance duties include moving exhibits, tables, chairs, livestock panels, painting, concrete work, and light carpentry. Landscaping duties include lawn and grounds, tree care, and watering. Assists the Wyoming State Fair maintenance staff in the preparation and clean-up of off-season events and the Wyoming State Fair. Qualifications PreferencesAgency Requirements: The minimum age for employment is 16 years. Must have a valid Wyoming driver's license. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be 18 years of age or older to operate any and all equipment, including the operation of all power-driven machines. Must be able to operate a variety of equipment, including lawn equipment, which includes all power-driven machines. Must be able to work around and in areas of hay, shavings, grass, weeds, dirt, and manure. All personnel must appear neat, and clean, and have the ability to communicate orally; understand, follow, and transmit oral and written instructions; and work in a safe and proper manner. Minimum Qualifications: None - See "Preferences" Necessary Special Requirements Physical Working Conditions: Must be able to work in the Wyoming elements, including dusty, hot, and dirty elements. While performing the duties of these jobs, personnel may be required to: reach with hands and arms; and use hands and fingers to feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. Personnel may occasionally be required to sit, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Personnel may frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements for personnel may include near, distant, peripheral, depth perception, and focus. Notes: FLSA: Non-Exempt Workday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. One (1) hour lunch. Forty (40) hour work week Monday - Friday. Weekends/evening work will be required depending on fairground events. Overtime rate will be applied at one and a half for hours worked over forty (40) in the State of Wyoming work week. Must be willing to work through August 21, 2026, if needed.
