We take pride in providing quality equipment, parts, and service to our customers – none of which would be possible without our accounting team behind the scenes.\n\nWage & Benefits\n\nAnnual compensation of $135,000 or higher, depending on experience\n401(k) with 25% company match and profit sharing\nHealth, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance\nPaid time off\nPaid holidays (8.5 days)\nTraining and professional development opportunities\n\nJob Duties & Responsibilities\n\nMulti-Store Financial Reporting: Oversee and review timely closing of monthly financial statements for 10 branch locations\nMulti-State Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with corporate, sales, use, property and payroll tax regulations across all 3 operating states.\nCentralized Accounting Oversight: Direct and mentor a team of branch level accounting admins and a corporate accounting team. Implement standardized accounting procedures, general ledger maintenance, and schedule reconciliations across all locations.\nManage Banking Relationships: Collaborate with owners to manage banking relationships and responsibilities including wire & ACH transfers\nInternal Controls & Risk Management: Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal control policies across all physical locations to protect company assets, prevent fraud, and minimize operational variances.\nAudit & Asset Management: Coordinate year-end CPA audits, state tax audits, and financial institution reviews. Coordinate physical inventory counts (vehicles and parts) and floorplan audits. Work with outside accountant to manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.\nIntercompany Reconciliations: Manage complex intercompany transactions, inventory transfers, centralized purchasing allocations, and shared services expenses.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum 7-10 years of accounting experience with 3+ years in management role\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, MBA & CPA preferred\nProficient with Dealership Management Systems (DMS) or similar with cross platform migration a plus\nExceptional Excel skills with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications\nProven ability to manage, train, and hold remote teams accountable.\nWillingness to embrace AI technology for increased efficiency and accuracy\nExcellent work ethic\n\nSchedule\n\nMonday-Friday, 8am-5pm\nThis is a fully on-site position with no hybrid or remote options\nOccasional travel to branch locations required\n\nNorth Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. We are a family-owned and operated company with 2nd and 3rd generations taking the reins of leadership.\n\nNCU offers reefers, dry vans, and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin – we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well.\n\nOur parts department has an extensive inventory of Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor, Trailer, and TRU parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensure we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts.\n\nOur service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections, to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailer of all makes and models.
