The company was founded in 2022 and has focused on the development and scale up of our proprietary integrated lithium extraction and lithium iron phosphate synthesis process since 2025.NewGenium is affiliated with Idealab in Pasadena, CA which provides human resource management services for the company.Position Purpose: The position involves working with laboratory scientists, and process engineers to develop and validate NewGenium’s novel DLE (direct lithium extraction) and LFP (lithium iron phosphate) synthesis technologies at the unit operation scale. The role will specifically focus on the use of unit operation scale reactors units to inform process design decisions at larger scales.Key Position Accountabilities: (Either directly or through leadership of other team members)Operate and interpret data from NewGenium’s unit operation scale laboratory reactors and equipment. Analyze liquid and solid samples with lab scale analytical techniques (ion chromatography, inductively-coupled plasma spectrometry, and nitrogen physisorption).Support construction and operation of larger scale prototype and pilot facilities via de-risking experiments at the unit operation scale. Requirements: ·        B.S. or higher degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering or equivalent relevancy. ·        Experience operating pilot or unit operation scale laboratory equipment is desirable.·        Analytical experience with porous solids and/or high dissolved solids aqueous solutions is desirable.·        Experience constructing and/or troubleshooting unit operation scale laboratory equipment is desirable.·        Proven written and oral communication skills.·        Ability to work in a small team of engineers in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.·        Desire to work in a start-up environment requiring capability to take initiative and solve broad open-ended problems.·        Occasional travel for meetings and site visits required.INTERESTED CANDIDATES SHOULD SUBMIT THEIR RESUMES TO chris@newgenium.comDisclaimer: NewGenium, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action employer.
