Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA\r\nDepartment: Business & Administrative Services\r\nClosing: 6/30/2026 11:59 PM Pacific\r\nEssential Duties\r\nProvides advanced technical support to the Assistant Director, Enterprise Application Services and to different departments in translating business needs into the development of functionality for multiplatform applications.\r\nProvides advanced technical support in the testing, debugging, and tracking of developed application modules.\r\nProvides advanced technical support by developing and testing system queries for application modules.\r\nAssists in the development, testing, and maintenance of interface functionality between systems.\r\nAssists in developing and maintaining application documentation including, but not limited to, release notes and flow diagrams.\r\nAssists in developing and testing system queries.\r\nMigrates and translates code between programming languages.\r\nOptimizes code to minimize the use of computing resources.\r\nLearns and applies new technologies related to module development.\r\nPerforms related duties as assigned.\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nAn Associate in Arts Degree in Computer Science or a related field; AND\r\nOne year of increasingly responsible experience in applications development and application security.\r\nFour (4) years of experience in application development and application security may be substituted in lieu of the education requirement.\r\nKnowledge of\r\nPrincipals of multi-platform application and program development.\r\nStandard programming languages.\r\nPrinciples, methods and techniques of computerized data processing, computer applications, including hardware and software.\r\nGeneral office software.\r\nSkill to\r\nApply knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of multi-platform application, program development, data processing, computer applications, hardware, software, and standard programming languages to manipulate and extract data from District software, information systems, and third party information systems.\r\nUse general office software to communicate with district staff, vendors, third party administrators, and develop reports.\r\nAbility to\r\nWork on a variety of application development efforts with competing deadlines.\r\nStay current in the field of programming and application development.\r\nWork independently with minimal supervision.\r\nProvide employee trainings.\r\nCommunicate effectively, orally and in writing, to communicate with district staff, vendors, third party administrators, and complete various projects.\r\nInterpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.\r\nAnalyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.\r\nDevelop and maintain collegiate relationships with District staff, students, and members of the community to develop multiplatform applications and methods to manipulate and extract data.\r\nPhysical Abilities\r\nAble to continuously (5.6 hours to 8 hours per shift) exhibit the ability to operate a computer.\r\nAble to frequently exhibit mobility and the ability to communicate with District staff, vendors, and third party companies to complete projects.\r\nCore Competencies\r\nApplication Development & Programming Proficiency\r\nSystems Analysis & Requirements Gathering\r\nSoftware Testing & Debugging\r\nDatabase & Data Management Knowledge\r\nSystem Implementation & Migration Support\r\nTechnical Documentation\r\nUser Support & Technical Training\r\nProblem Solving & Continuous Improvement\r\nPASADENA AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT Equal Opportunity, Title IX, Section 504 Employer\r\nThe Pasadena Area Community College District is an equal opportunity employer.
