Low Voltage Technician
Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Cabling Technician to join our team. In this role, you will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems and low voltage infrastructure across a variety of commercial job sites including office buildings, retail spaces, schools, and healthcare facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, route, and terminate low voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, coaxial cable in commercial environments (fiber termination a plus)Mount and wire AV equipment, security cameras, access control systems, and network data racks/patch panelsRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specificationsPerform cable testing and certification using Fluke or similar test equipment and document resultsDress and label cable runs neatly in accordance with TIA/EIA standardsInstall support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, innerductKnowledgeable on the proper use of basic hand toolsCoordinate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades on active job sitesTroubleshoot and resolve cabling issues and signal/connectivity problemsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all timesMaintain a clean, neat, professional appearanceComplete daily work orders, job documentation, and material tracking accuratelyRequired QualificationsProficiency with Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic, coaxial, and AV cabling installation and terminationExperience with cable testing and certification equipment (e.g., Fluke equivalent)Familiarity with TIA/EIA-568 wiring standards and best practicesAbility to read blueprints, floor plans, and riser diagramsComfortable working on ladders, scissor lifts, and in confined spacesValid driver's license and reliable transportationStrong attention to detail and quality craftsmanshipPreferred QualificationsExperience with access controlIP camera systemsFiber optic splicing or fusion experienceForklift or aerial lift certificationWork ConditionsFull-time position; Monday–Friday 8am–5pmTravel to commercial job sites within the service areaMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, and working overheadCompensation & Benefits• Competitive salary commensurate with experience• Company-paid medical insurance• Company-paid dental insurance• Company-paid vision insurance• Paid time off and holidays• 401(k) with company match• 125 Cafeteria Plan that includes* Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Unreimbursed medical expenses* Dependent Care Assistance Plan (DCAP) - Childcare expenses pre-tax* Premium-Only Plan (POP) - Insurance premiums pre-tax.• Cell phone provided• Ongoing training and certifications provided
