The Civil / Structural Senior Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to advance new plant detailed design and successfully deliver NPP projects.\nEssential Responsibilities\nThe candidate must have demonstrated experience with the following:\nPerform Soil-Structure-Interaction (SSI) analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures\nPerform design and analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures in accordance with the following codes: ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690 code, and ACI 349 code.\nPerform Static and Dynamic analysis of complex NI and Containment structures using SAP4, ANSYS and/or NASTRAN computer codes.\nUnderstand and analyze the effect of thermal stresses in the reactor containment and resolve over stress conditions.\nDefine hydrodynamic input loads for calculation of dynamic response of containment structure and the C/S design of reactor containment.\nAnalyze the effects of missiles, aircraft impact and severe wind on reinforced concrete structures.\nDevelop engineering reports and licensing documentation.\nInterface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, the NRC, and international regulatory authorities on technical issues.\nIncorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents.\nServe as the technical expert, providing consultation on system design, design bases, and interfaces to other engineering disciplines.\nWork within a team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success.\nPerform work in compliance with policies and procedures.\nQualifications / Requirements\nBachelor's Degree in Science, or higher, in Civil/Structural Engineering\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering position\nMinimum 8 years of Nuclear Power\nPlant Nuclear Island structural analysis experience, specifically Containment & Reactor\nBuilding design\nMinimum 5 years of experience in relevant Systems Design\nExpert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements\nExpert knowledge of ANSYS or other FEA computer software\nExpert knowledge of ACS-SASSI or SASSI Seismic Soil-Structure-Interaction computer software\nAdditional Desired Characteristics\nAble to effectively communicate and work with others.\nRobust knowledge of Turbine Island and BOP systems analyses and design.\nStrong interpersonal and leadership skills\nExperience with BWR technology.\nKnowledge of GEH ESBWR and ABWR Certified Designs\nJob Type: Contract\nPay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour\nEducation:\nBachelor's (Required)\nExperience:\nASME codes & standards: 1 year (Required)\nASSI Seismic Soil-Structure-Interaction: 1 year (Required)\nWillingness to travel:\n25% (Preferred)\nWork Location: Remote","company":"Systems Int","rawCompany":"systems int","city":"Remote","state":"OR","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-04-12T21:02:11.045Z","occupations":[{"code":"17-2161.00","title":"Nuclear Engineers","slug":"nuclear-engineers"},{"code":"17-2051.00","title":"Civil Engineers","slug":"civil-engineers"},{"code":"17-2199.00","title":"Engineers, All Other","slug":"engineers-all-other"}],"industries":[{"code":"541330","title":"Engineering Services","slug":"engineering-services"},{"code":"541690","title":"Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services","slug":"other-scientific-and-technical-consulting-services"},{"code":"221113","title":"Nuclear Electric Power Generation","slug":"nuclear-electric-power-generation"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Senior Structural Engineer","description":"Role Summary / Purpose\nThis position contributes to the team responsible for the Civil / Structural design of New Nuclear Power Plants.
