Relocation assistance available.\nSecurity Clearance None/Not Required\nEligibility U.S. citizenship required.\nWhat You Will Do Collaborate with plant and engineering staff to identify possible chemical or materials engineering tool-related problems.\nDesign and plan equipment layout to optimize chemical and materials engineering processes.\nPerform laboratory studies of manufacturing steps and test proposed processes in small-scale operations such as a pilot plant to ensure feasibility and viability.\nDetermine appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials to develop and optimize materials for engineering design.\nMonitor material performance and evaluate deterioration to ensure required specifications are met.\nDesign, develop and test metallic and non-metallic structures or materials and their related fabrication processes for engineering designs.\nResearch and develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.\nDetermine arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, oxidation, hydrogenation, and polymerization to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.\nAnalyze, research, design and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to optimize engineering design of structures, systems and subsystems.\nPerform material analyses including failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.\nApply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.\nReview and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.\nOngoing production monitoring and troubleshooting of problems associated with all assigned aircraft programs.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cost and process variation.\nServe as liaison interdepartmentally within Pueblo regarding production issues associated with aircraft programs.\nServe as liaison between Troy, other carbon sites, and Pueblo regarding support/information for aircraft programs.\nMaintain and/or write specifications and drawings for all assigned aircraft programs at the AMF level and below.\nParticipate in continuous improvement activities.\nComplete other duties as assigned.\nQualifications – Must Have Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.\nPreferred Qualifications Formal education in Chemical or Material Science Engineering.\n2–5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing engineering environment.\nAerospace manufacturing experience.\nAircraft program and/or project management experience.\nData mining experience.\nExperience in technical writing and management presentations.\nBenefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.\nThree weeks of vacation for newly hired employees.\nGenerous 401(k) plan with employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution.\nTuition reimbursement program.\nStudent loan repayment program.\nLife insurance and disability coverage.\nOptional coverages: pet insurance, home and auto insurance, additional life and accident insurance, critical illness insurance, group legal, ID theft protection.\nBirth, adoption, parental leave benefits.\nOvia Health, fertility, and family planning assistance.\nAdoption assistance.\nAutism Benefit program.\nEmployee Assistance Plan with counseling sessions.\nHealthy You incentives, wellness rewards program.\nDoctor on Demand virtual doctor visits.\nBright Horizons child and elder care services.\nTeladoc medical experts second opinion program.\nSalary USD 68,900 – 131,100\nEqual Opportunity Employer RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
