Lives are changed.\n\nWhat we are looking for:\n\nThe Corporate and Foundation Program Coordinator will provide key program support to the Corporate and Foundation Development team. This role will primarily focus on identifying new grant opportunities, monitoring compliance with existing grants, and preparing detailed, confidential financial reports to demonstrate compliance.\n\nThe individual in this position is expected to embrace KU Endowment’s stated core values – collaboration, curiosity, empowerment, and excellence – and demonstrate support for them through professional interactions and activities.\n\nHybrid Work Environment:\nFollowing the initial training period, this position offers a hybrid work schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. However, the role requires multiple days per week on-site at our Lawrence, KS office to ensure effective collaboration, team engagement, and alignment with organizational goals.\n\nWhat’s a typical day look like?\n\nOversees the grant reporting process, ensuring the timely submission of all required annual, semi-annual, and quarterly reports by coordinating with internal staff and University personnel.\nManages a portfolio of non-major gift donors offering recurring open RFPs (annual, semi-annual, or quarterly) and collaborates with internal and University stakeholders to pursue these opportunities.\nCoordinates the prospecting and ongoing monitoring of corporations and foundations for specific projects using online research tools, in collaboration with the Corporate & Foundation Development (CFD) team, internal staff, and University personnel.\nPrepares correspondence, form letters, and complex reports, often involving non-standardized or sensitive information. Maintains a professional and courteous demeanor in all communications with donors, University faculty and staff, and external partners.\nResponds to phone calls and inquiries related to CFD activities and initiatives\nWorks collaboratively with team members and cross-functional partners to achieve strategic goals and outcomes.\nRegular and reliable attendance is essential for this position.\nPerforms other duties as may be assigned.\n\nWhat’s required to be considered:\n\nBachelor’s degree or a minimum of one to three years of administrative support experience, with demonstrated expertise in development support functions, including word processing, database management, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nPreferred experience in using research platforms (e.g., Instrumentl) to identify and analyze corporate and foundation funding opportunities. Experience in utilizing various database outlets (e.g., Instrumentl) to seek information as it relates to corporate & foundation research is also preferred.\nKnowledge of fundraising principles and practices is required, with a strong preference for experience within a post-secondary educational environment.\nAttention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions is required.\nMust be proficient in English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic math and statistics.\nRequires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.\n\nWhat separates the best from the rest?\n\nAbility to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships inside and outside KU Endowment.\nAbility to adapt to new procedures and technology.\nExperience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), and with databases.\nDemonstrated ability to organize, plan, and set priorities with minimal supervision.\nFamiliarity with KU Endowment and the University of Kansas is preferred.\nCapacity to adapt quickly to major and minor changes in projects and outcomes.\nAbility to work as part of a team to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with board members, university partners, volunteers, and KU Endowment staff.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nA valid driver’s license.\nMust have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple locations for training, donor meetings, networking, events and/or work-related activities.\nMust be able to respond quickly and effectively to directions and safety hazards.\nThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office productivity machinery such as computers, keyboards and a mouse, laptops, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.\nThis is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.\nThe ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).\nThe person in this position frequently communicates with donors, colleagues, students, and general public.
