Leads the system design, development, testing, and implementation of all aspects of the RF Satellite Communications System development lifecycle, under the leadership of the given Program Manager. Outlines integrated solutions that meet performance, usability, reliability, and security needs. Develop technical documentation on applications and systems. Facilitates and leads in the evaluation and selection of commercial-off-the-shelf product evaluations. Additional responsibilities include analyzing engineered products to meet customer use‑cases and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces to meet system requirements.\n\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities\n\nWorks as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) as Systems Engineer under the direction of the Director of Systems Engineering and with the given Program Manager.\n\nSupport the development of subsystem and system requirements by leading requirements IPT and working group meetings with the customer and subcontractors.\n\nIdentify and perform hands‑on evaluation of system components, such as antennas, LNBs, amplifiers, HPAs, up‑converters, down‑coverters, multiplexers, reference oscillators, PLLs, etc.\n\nReview, develop, and document system‑level operational concepts.\n\nProvides effective and efficient system engineering support during the conceptual design, detailed design, integration, and test phases of a product development program and production delivery, supporting on‑time completion of assigned tasks.\n\nPerforms requirement flow‑down and traceability and evaluates the verification test results to satisfy requirements.\n\nDrives continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of analysis, monitoring, and performance management.\n\nSets systems and test requirements of new products and makes decisions relative to system architecture, components selection, and customer use‑cases.\n\nWorks to support multiple programs/products simultaneously.\n\nPrepares and presents design and analysis summary material during internal and external design reviews.\n\nDocuments system designs using ThinKom records retention procedures.\n\nFollows Company design procedures and corporate policies.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nSkills and/or Experience Needed\n\nBS, MS, or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or related technical field.\n\nTechnically proficient System Engineer with strong architecture skills, subject matter expertise in RF Communications Systems, and solid knowledge of all major components of RF Systems.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in systems engineering, with a track record of successfully architecting, developing, and validating complex RF Communications Systems.\n\nHands‑on expertise with Vector Network Analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other RF measurement equipment.\n\nTechnically proficient in MS Office products.\n\nLanguage Skills\n\nInterpersonal skills to effectively work with ThinKom people internally as well as working effectively with suppliers and customers.\n\nAbility to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews, as needed.\n\nOther Abilities\n\nAbility to communicate clearly in a well thought out manner, verbal and written.\n\nMust have substantial problem‑solving abilities.\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nMust be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance in support of US Government contracts/subcontracts.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nAbility to travel up to 10% of the time.\n\nThis position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data.\n\nThis position may be subject to interruptions that may cause a change in immediate priorities and/or work focus.\n\nWhile performing duties to this position, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and/or bend.\n\nMay occasionally lift and/or move files or boxes up to 50 pounds.\n\nMay be subjected to occasional irregular or extended work hours.\n\nMay be required to sit for extended lengths of time.\n\nMust be able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials, chemicals, and electromagnetic energy.\n\nSalary Range $90,000 -
