Each developer has the opportunity to design and implement noticeable and impactful changes to the system as a whole.\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 to 5 core hours\n\nEssential Responsibilities:\nAs a GEODS Expert Software Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to other developers, advancing the vision and execution of the GEODS program by completing the following tasks:\nContribute to all phases of the software development life cycle\nWrite well-designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code\nEnsure designs follow specifications approved by customer\nContribute to planning and prioritization of work for future Program Increments\nRecommend changes to improve established application and organizational processes\nPrepare and produce releases of software components\nSupport formal testing and resolution of defects\nProvide technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure defects and questions\nGuide and lead junior/mid-level developers, to include completing code reviews\nMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\nAt least 3 years of demonstrated experience with AWS, including but not limited to Service orchestration, deployment, and maintenance.\nAt least 6 years demonstrated experience with software development using SAFe or similar Agile methodologies, to include working with Scrum Masters and/or Product Owners to decompose high level requirements into actionable user stories\nAt least 6 years of demonstrated experience coding in Python or another language\nAt least 6 years of demonstrated experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD, specifically utilizing GitLab or similar Git repository\nAt least 6 years of demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform, CDK, or other\nAt least 6 years of demonstrated experience with Container and Orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)\nAbility to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical concepts and challenges/obstacles in a clear and direct manner\nSecurity Clearance Required:\nTS/SCI with CI POLY\nMinimum Education:\nMaster’s degree plus 4 years of experience, bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience, associate's degree plus 12 years of experience, or a minimum of 15 years of experience, in relevant field\nMinimum Years of Experience:\nMaster’s degree plus 4 years of experience, bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience, associate's degree plus 12 years of experience, or a minimum of 15 years of experience, in relevant field\nPreferred Qualifications: AI if applicable to your program\nCloud certification(s), preferably from AWS, OCI or Google Cloud\nExperience with API design\nExperience with Multi Cloud Service Development and Coordination\nFamiliarity with AI/ML, specifically Amazon SageMaker\nFamiliarity with front-end development\nExperience with Atlassian suite, specifically Jira and Confluence\nPrevious NGA experience\nOther Responsibilities:\nSafety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
