The Griff Network is dedicated to customer satisfaction through quality products and expert services, continually developing new patented products to meet evolving needs.\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced and dependable Printer Operator to join our GAL, Griff Applied Laminates division. The Printer Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials that meet customer specifications and production requirements.\nThis position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage press settings, inks, viscosity, registration, materials, and print quality throughout each production run. The Printer Operator will review work orders, complete press changeovers, identify and correct printing issues, document production results, and direct the daily activities of the Printer Operator Helper.\nThe ideal candidate has previous printing or machine operation experience, demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and quality, and can independently operate production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSet up, operate, monitor, and shut down printing equipment according to work orders, job specifications, and established procedures.\nVerify that the correct materials, inks, cylinders, tooling, labels, and production specifications are available before starting each job.\nAdjust press speed, tension, registration, impression, alignment, and other operating controls to maintain consistent production.\nPrepare inks, perform viscosity checks, and make adjustments throughout the production run to maintain color and print quality.\nInspect printed materials for color accuracy, registration, clarity, adhesion, defects, and compliance with customer requirements.\nComplete press changeovers, including cleaning equipment, changing inks, installing components, and preparing the press for the next job.\nTroubleshoot printing, mechanical, material, and quality issues while minimizing waste and production downtime.\nAccurately complete production records, quality checks, material usage, scrap, downtime, and job completion documentation.\nDirect and support the Printer Operator Helper with material preparation, machine setup, ink handling, cleaning, and changeovers.\nMaintain a clean and safe work area while following all company safety, quality, production, and environmental procedures.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferred.\nPrevious experience operating a printing press or similar industrial production equipment is strongly preferred.\nExperience with flexographic, rotogravure, web-based, or roll-to-roll printing equipment is preferred.\nPrevious experience working with inks, solvents, viscosity controls, color matching, and print registration is preferred.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine settings, controls, and production processes.\nStrong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to product quality and accuracy.\nExperience identifying and correcting equipment, material, or print-quality issues in a manufacturing environment.\nGood organizational, communication, and basic math skills.\nPrevious experience training, directing, or supporting production helpers is preferred.\nDependable attendance and the ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.\nMedical, dental, vision, FSA, and 401(k) benefits.\nHands-on training and cross-training opportunities within the GAL division.\nOpportunities to expand knowledge of printing, laminating, coating, and converting operations.\nA defined career path with opportunities to advance into Operator Lead, Supervisor, and other production leadership positions.\nOpportunities to grow with the company as new skills, responsibilities, and leadership capabilities are developed.\nA supportive team environment within a stable, family-owned manufacturing company\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle tools and materials, reach, bend, stoop, and communicate effectively with team members.
