Identify problems and develop plans to continuously improve uses/processes of material, machines, and employee resources. Ensure and promote safety, success, teamwork, and quality in the work environment.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nProvide supervision to hourly employees on assigned shift.\nTrack attendance, schedule vacations, ensure compliance to the employee handbook, etc.\nConduct daily shift meetings to keep employees aware of production levels, delivery performance, quality, overtime, upcoming events, etc.\nSupervise daily staffing and output levels to meet or exceed planned productivity levels.\nMotivate, provide clear direction and set expectations for new and existing hourly and temporary personnel.\nEnsure that all hourly and temporary personnel have the training needed, the tools required and are held accountable to set expectations.\nSupervise the production of parts to meet or exceed customer / design specifications to be at, or below, planned customer concern and scrap levels.\nParticipate in problem solving teams to identify root cause and corrective actions to resolve quality related issues.\nSupervise the daily production of parts according to the production schedules (schedule compliance) to minimize past due orders and maximize on time delivery.\nEnsure employee safety by ensuring all safety devices are in use and the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times.\nReport all accidents / near misses to the operations manager and safety manager within 24 hours. Participate in the completion of the accident investigation / report.\nAssist with implementing and sustaining corrective actions Ensure associates within a specific production area attend all safety related training events.\nSupport continuous improvement efforts within a specific production area. • Maintain 5S initiatives within production area responsibilities.\nContinually search for process improvements to improve Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Safety and Cost metrics.\nEDUCATION AND TRAINING:\nAssociate Degree in Business Administration or Engineering or the equivalent in practical experience and/or specialized training preferred.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n1-year experience in a leadership/supervisory role.\n1-3 years practical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to improve processes.\nWorking knowledge of various safety programs and OSHA regulations.\nFamiliarity with Quality systems and processes.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position occasionally.\nFrequent need to move about inside plant and office designated areas.\nMinimal need to position self in low or tight spaces.\nOccasional movements of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
