This role balances technical apparel support, such as assisting with fittings, sewing, pressing, and stock repairs and with vital administrative oversight.\nAs a key partner to store associates and leadership, you will run daily operational reports, manage documentation, process alterations transactions, and help oversee workroom operations in the manager’s absence to ensure all work meets Saks Global's luxury quality standards.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nLogistics & Workflow Management\n\nInbound Operations: Receive gondolas and wardrobe boxes delivered by carriers (e.g., FedEx); verify contents against\ninbound manifests and immediately resolve any discrepancies.\n\nOrganization: Break down, file, and organize garments systematically by customer promise date.\nOutbound Operations: Prepare wardrobe boxes for shipping, create shipping labels, manifest outbound merchandise by\nstore/destination, and load, seal, and stage gondolas for secure shipment.\n\nQuality Assurance & Technical Support\n\nGarment Inspection: Retrieve garments from the press station and conduct final quality inspections to ensure all alteration\ntasks strictly adhere to Saks Global quality guidelines.\n\nAtelier Assistance: Assist with fittings, sewing, pressing, spotting garments, and execution of stock repairs as needed.\n\nAdministration & Store Communication\n\nReporting: Utilize daily alterations reports to verify merchandise completion, audit operational metrics, and plan upcoming\nworkflows.\n\nCompliance: Monitor alteration tickets, tasks, receipts, waived fees, and marks for accuracy and compliance with corporate\nstandards.\n\nStakeholder Liaison: Act as a central point of contact for supported stores; answer inquiries from store associates and leadership professionally and direct inquiries appropriately.\nFinancial Tracking: Ring alterations transactions accurately through the POS system as required.\n\nLeadership & Support\n\nWorkroom Oversight: Provide operational supervision and leadership to employees in the event the Alterations Manager is\nnot present.\n\nAd Hoc Support: Perform additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the success of the alterations\ndepartment.\nWHAT YOU WILL BRING:\nExperience: 2+ years of relevant experience in retail operations, administrative coordination, or apparel/alterations\nenvironments.\n\nIndustry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the fashion industry, including garment tailoring, construction, fabrication, and\nluxury styling.\n\nCommunication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively and professionally via\nphone, email, and in person with customers, store associates, and leadership.\n\nTechnical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft/ Google and comfortable operating standard office and POS equipment.\nOrganization: Strong coordination skills, with a proven ability to manage order workflows, scheduling, and documentation\nin a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nDegree in Fashion Design, Apparel Product Development, or a related field.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully\nperform the essential functions of this job\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger,\nhandle, or feel.
