Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future.\nRequirements:\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:\nTypical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:\nPerform vehicle-level brake system tuning including subjective and objective brake performance evaluation.\nConduct ESC (Electronic Stability Control) tuning to meet customer requirements and support FMVSS certification.\nExecute competitive benchmarking of brake systems, including vehicle preparation, test execution, data analysis, and report creation.\nPresent benchmarking findings and technical feedback to Mobis Korea R&D and internal stakeholders.\nDocument test plans, procedures, configurations, results, and next steps, ensuring traceability and issue tracking throughout development.\nSupport brake product development and brake performance improvement activities, including plant production and port-based support.\nProvide customer application support for brake performance studies, quality concerns, and product improvement initiatives.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, program management, and global teams to ensure project targets are met.\nConduct in-vehicle performance testing using CAN communication tools (CANape, CANoe) and calibration tools such as ATI Vision.\nApply foundational knowledge of vehicle dynamics, control systems, software, and electronics to support brake tuning activities.\nMaintain strong communication with Hyundai/Kia Motor Company and Mobis Korea R&D Brake Tuning Team.\nPrepare and deliver technical reports, benchmarking summaries, and development documentation.\nTravel domestically and internationally up to 50% to support testing, customer reviews, and global collaboration.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:\nStrong understanding of vehicle dynamics, brake systems, and in-vehicle performance testing.\nExperience with CAN networks, OBD II, and vehicle communication systems.\nAbility to build strong working relationships with global partners, particularly in Asia.\nBasic software programming knowledge and familiarity with calibration tools such as ATI Vision.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.\nHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.\nReliable transportation and a valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.\nSelf-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently in dynamic testing environments.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.\nWillingness to travel up to 50% (domestic + international).\nBe a team player with integrity and professionalism.\nEDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.\nAutomotive development or tuning experience required.\nPreferred experience with OEM ESC sign-off for the North American market.\nExperience supporting Hyundai/Kia or Mobis Korea R&D is a plus.\nCOMPENSATION (California Pay Transparency Requirement):Annual Salary Range: $85,000 – $125,000\nActual compensation will depend on experience, education, skill level, and internal equity.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to sit for extended periods, operate a computer daily, and perform in-vehicle testing activities.\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is performed in office settings, test facilities, proving grounds, and in-vehicle environments.\nMay be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during testing.\nTravel may include domestic proving grounds and international R&D sites.\nTRAVEL:\nDomestic and international travel up to 50%.\nFrequent travel to customer sites, proving grounds, and Mobis Korea R&D.\nOTHER DUTIES:\nThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required for this job.
