We are looking for an experienced software developer with an interest in practical cryptography to join us in building the most secure and user-friendly tools available to help our customers protect their data and accelerate use of cryptography in all AWS services.\n\nYou should have experience designing scalable, customer-centric systems and a passion for delivering secure software solutions. Along with senior leaders, principal engineers, and security specialists you will own delivering and supporting cryptographic tools and libraries used by internal and external customers around the world.\n\nKey job responsibilities\n\nOwning the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, testing, and implementing new features for AWS Cryptography\nArchitecting and driving the end-to-end framework that enables internal teams to integrate seamlessly with encryption libraries.\nDelivering foundational libraries for one of the most secure and reliable services in all of AWS\n\nA day in the life\nWe own open source libraries, which means that we work out of GitHub, we respond to issues public issues and communicate with external customers regularly.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\n3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience\nBachelor's degree or equivalent\nKnowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles\nKnowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience\nBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent\nKnowledge of Linux fundamentals\nExperience with development in a distributed systems environment\nProficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Rust, Python, Java, C, C++, or C# including object-oriented design\n\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\n\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
