Product Specialist - Panel Processing & Industrial Automation
Essential FunctionsSupport the regional sales team with technical expertise, customer presentations, proposals, demonstrations, and equipment recommendations Analyze customer manufacturing processes and production requirements to develop optimized machinery and automation solutions Collaborate with customers, sales, engineering, service, and vendors to ensure projects are executed successfully and customer expectations are met Assist with machine demonstrations, software solutions, application support, and process optimization discussions Provide technical support and product expertise to internal service and parts teams Support customer training efforts related to new equipment, process improvements, and system capabilities Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, manufacturing technologies, and emerging market opportunities Assist with trade shows, open houses, customer events, and marketing initiatives to increase product visibility and market penetration Build strong relationships with customers through consultative engagement and ongoing technical support IDEAL INDUSTRY BACKGROUND Relevant experience may come from companies involved in woodworking machinery, CNC machining, metal fabrication, industrial automation, robotics, plastics processing, tooling, or capital equipment manufacturing and distribution. Experience with companies such as HOMAG, Biesse, SCM, HOLZ-HER, WEINIG, Thermwood, TRUMPF, Mazak, Haas, DMG MORI, Bystronic, Salvagnini, Amada, Okuma, Hurco, industrial automation integrators, or similar equipment manufacturers/distributors is highly valued. QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial machinery experience preferred3–5 years of experience supporting industrial machinery, CNC equipment, automation systems, fabrication equipment, panel processing equipment, or related manufacturing technologiesExperience in customer-facing applications engineering, product specialist, technical sales support, manufacturing engineering, or process optimization roles preferredAbility to understand complex manufacturing systems and communicate technical solutions effectively to customersSkills & AbilitiesStrong mechanical and technical aptitude Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities Comfortable working in manufacturing facilities and customer-facing environments Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing-related software platforms Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements Willingness to travel regionally as needed WORK ENVIRONMENTThis role combines office, showroom, and customer-site environments. The Product Specialist will regularly engage with customers in manufacturing facilities, support machine demonstrations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and travel throughout the assigned region as needed.
