Specifically, Equities Cash Tech covers a broad set of capabilities, including Client and Market Connectivity, Smart Order Routing, Algorithmic Trading, Internal Crossing Engines, Analytics, Regulatory & Compliance Reporting, as well as High Touch trading applications used by sales traders and execution desks. The platform supports both low-touch electronic execution flows and high-touch trading workflows, enabling seamless interaction with global clients, trading venues, and internal users. This includes real-time order capture, execution management, pricing support, and advanced decision-making tools for traders. ECT teams design, build, and maintain highly scalable, low-latency systems that are critical to\nsupporting diverse trading strategies and client requirements across markets. The team is global with a strong presence in every region (AMRS, EMEA and APAC). We aim to maintain a global perspective while recognizing and responding to specific regional requirements that make each market unique. This role requires a strategic mindset, an ability to understand technology development, transformation and change management, a strong customer service mindset in support of our growing equities trading franchise and an ability to leverage data to manage transparently, identify risks and drive consistent delivery.\n\nThis requirement is for a core Java Engineer to design and implement end-to-end solutions for low latency Order\nManagement applications. Analyze requirements across markets and develop low-latency, high-throughput Core Java applications. As a senior developer, contribute to architecture, and drive engineering excellence. Leverage GenAI and Copilot tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.\n\nThe ideal candidate will also have:\n\nBusiness Knowledge – Understanding of Equities and FFO markets\nStrategic Thinking: Strategic vision, Business knowledge, Innovation & Creativity\nBusiness Results: Client relationships, Analytical ability, Execution\nPersonal Effectiveness: Communication, decisiveness, energy & drive, courage, character\nYour Background:\n\nResponsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals.\nEnsures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.\nEnsures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset.\nPossess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.\nAt this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOps. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements.\nParticipates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.\nPerforms spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.\nCodes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.\nAssists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.\nDesigns/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.\nDesigns/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).\nSets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities.\nMentors other Software Engineers on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.\nRequired Skills:Specifically, the following skills are required:\n\nIn depth understanding of core Java API’s (collections, concurrency, nio etc) – Must have extensive understanding and proven industrial experience with multithreaded systems, working knowledge of the Java garbage collector, familiar with low latency IO\nAI First approach\nEnthusiastic, passionate engineer able to work closely with project teams in a multi-faceted role\nAutomation first mindset across the software development lifecycle, particularly around shift-left testing\nPractical experience within an Electronic Trading environment in an investment bank or similar\nDevelopment practices - Use test driven development and be familiar with UML and OO design.
