Responsibilities will also include setting up, programming, operation and minor maintenance of the entire material handling system. Controlling and identifying all scrap material, which includes regrind for processing, recyclable scrap, and waste scrap. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.\r\nEssential Functions:Properly train all Material System Techs in the listed areas: Processes / Material System / Safety and Proper PPE / Cleaning Procedures\r\nMaintain all department training records, competency logs and job descriptions.\r\nMaintain appropriate staffing levels and conduct employee evaluations.\r\nEnsure that employees comply with all Health, Safety and Regulatory programs.\r\nAttend Production Scheduling meeting and prepare a schedule for Material System Techs.\r\nRead, follow, and verify Work Orders to ensure product is manufactured to specification.\r\nVerify Material Technicians are properly completing daily responsibilities.\r\nDevelop and promote Continuous Improvement projects within the department and assist such efforts throughout the organization.\r\nReport and follow proper procedures for all plant accidents and insure all proper documentation is completed in legal time frames.\r\nIdentify raw materials and label correctly.\r\nComplete moisture tests daily and document results.\r\nProgram, set up and operate entire material handling system including blenders, dryers, hoppers and grinder evacuation units.\r\nTroubleshoot and correct common material and material system problems.\r\nChange materials as required.\r\nClean and maintain material blenders, hoppers, dryers, and grinders as required.\r\nVerify Closed-loop regrind systems are in place and working.\r\nReport material system maintenance needs to maintenance dept including grinders, hoppers, material system, and barrel evac units.\r\nComplete material transactions for additions and subtractions of raw materials.\r\nInventory raw materials, colorants, and additives.\r\nTrack and report on the use of materials, regrind and scrap (including purge).\r\nMaintain the FIFO and inventory of regrind materials.\r\nAssist in maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality/Environmental System certifications by supporting: corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.\r\nVerify daily that the Material Log sheets are completed and correct.\r\nOther Functions:Visual inspection of manufactured parts.\r\nMix raw materials as needed using the correct formulas.\r\nUnload \"Bulk Material Trucks\" into proper silo as required, following specific work instructions.\r\nOversee the general housekeeping of department areas and supplies are in the appropriate places.\r\nWeigh and properly document all scrap materials for reuse, recycling, and waste.\r\nChange, clean and maintain all pump filters in material system as required.\r\nOther duties may be assigned.\r\nOther duties as assigned.\r\nSuccess in this Role Requires:Lead, motivate and train assigned employees.\r\nExpert in Material Technician Responsibilities\r\nAccurately maintain the Material Moisture Log\r\nAccurately maintain the Electronic Material Log.\r\nProperly complete material changes according to the production schedule and Work Order.\r\nProperly identify and label all types of raw materials (virgin, regrind, recyclable scrap and waste).\r\nProperly correct common material and material system related problems.\r\nProperly complete cleaning on grinders, hoppers, blenders, and press during material changes.\r\nProperly complete material transactions using the ERP system.\r\nKnowledge in QS9000/IATF16949 & ISO14000.\r\nWhat You'll Bring:High school diploma or equivalent required.\r\n1+ years experience with manufacturing material handling (preferably in injection molding environment).\r\n2+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.\r\nForklift experience preferred.\r\nAbility to perform basic math.\r\nAbility to lift, push, pull up to 85 lbs.\r\nFamiliarity with computers and have the ability to perform basic data entry required.\r\nAbility to work overtime on a daily and/or rotating weekend basis to meet the needs of our customers.\r\nAbility to work non-standard hours (up to 12 hours/day) occasionally to meet the needs of our customers.\r\nAbility to inspect production for quality defects.\r\nBy applying for a position with HellermannTyton, you understand that should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check through the use of our 3rd party supplier.
