Our start-up client poised for tremendous growth is seeking a hands-on, systems-oriented Controller with deep ecommerce experience and strong ERP discipline. The ideal candidate has operated in a high-growth product company processing thousands of ecommerce orders annually, understands inventory accounting across outsourced manufacturers, and can move the company from cash-basis to accrual accounting.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & AccountingLead transition from cash-basis to accrual accounting in compliance with U.S. GAAPPrepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)Own month-end close processDocument accounting policies and implement internal controlsOversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and GL integrityManage external CPA relationshipERP & Systems LeadershipServe as primary finance owner of Rootstock ERPEnsure accurate revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and COGS trackingIntegrate and reconcile Shopify, ShipStation, Salesforce, and Rootstock systemsMaintain system data integrity and scalable workflowsEcommerce & Revenue OperationsManage high-volume ecommerce accounting (thousands of orders annually)Reconcile payment processors and merchant accountsOversee returns, refunds, and fulfillment cost accountingManage multi-state sales tax complianceInventory & Contract Manufacturing AccountingAccount for inventory held at outsourced manufacturersTrack raw materials, WIP, and finished goodsAccurately calculate and report COGSDevelop controls around consigned or third-party stored inventoryCompliance & Operational ControlsImplement and manage employee expense systemDevelop scalable internal control frameworkPrepare company for potential audit or investor diligenceRequired QualificationsCPA strongly preferred7+ years progressive accounting experienceExtensive ecommerce accounting experience (Shopify & ShipStation)Direct experience using Rootstock ERP preferredDeep Salesforce experienceExperience converting cash to accrual accountingStrong outsourced manufacturing inventory accounting knowledgeExperience managing multi-state sales tax complianceCompensationCompetitive salary ($165,000 - $195,000) plus equity participation; unlimited PTO; fully paid medical, dental & vision premiums for the entire family
