Your focus will be on Virtual Machine Lifecycle Management, ensuring the design and implementation of consistent and highly scalable distributed services.\nYou will report to the Director, Engineering. The work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, where team members are expected to come into the office 3 days a week, fostering collaboration and face-to-face interactions. We emphasize minimizing meetings and encourage document-based communication for a more flexible schedule and transparent knowledge sharing. Additionally, we have Nutanix lunch days twice a week, providing a great opportunity for in-person connections with your team and other colleagues.\nThere are no travel requirements for this position at Nutanix, ensuring you can focus on your responsibilities and contribute effectively within the team dynamic.\nYour Role\nContribute to the development of Nutanix's Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV)\nDesign and develop new AHV security features\nMaintain and fix issues in AHV security features\nPush for improved reliability, performance, and security of AHV\nInteract with open source communities\nLead the development of features from concept to market\nHave extensive knowledge of OS internals, particularly UNIX/Linux\nUtilize C and Python programming languages for development\nBe familiar with x86 architecture, virtualization, storage, and network management\nWhat You Will Bring\nStrong proficiency in C and Python programming languages\nExtensive knowledge of OS internals, particularly UNIX/Linux\nFamiliarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, storage, and network management\nExperience developing software for Unix/Linux/BSD operating systems at the kernel level\nSkilled in C/C++, multi-threading, algorithms, data structures on Linux\nStrong debugging skills in Linux kernel mode\nDevice driver development experience in Unix/Linux/BSD environments\nBS or MS in Computer Science or related field (preferred)\nThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 156,000 and USD $ 310,800per year.\nHowever, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.\nThis role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration.
