Function Summary:\r\nPrimary responsibility: Safe and efficient receiving, handling, and storage of all products within the Granite Falls warehouse.\r\nB. Technical Skills:\r\n\r\nKnowledge and practice of all applicable safety rules and procedures including but not limited to:\r\nSafe lifting practices\r\nSafe product storage methods\r\nSafe operation of forklift and electric tugger\r\nAbility to operate forklift and tugger safely and efficiently. Must pass certification for forklift operation. Willing to train the right person.\r\nAbility to safely and efficiently store all finished goods from Granite manufacturing lines.\r\nKnowledge of all stock locations/ products and area designations.\r\nKnowledge of correct labeling requirements.\r\nAbility to identify and differentiate various inventoried products and characteristics.\r\nAbility to read and understand all applicable forms and paperwork involved in Warehousing Department, including but not limited to Material Transfer forms and Production Worksheets.\r\nTake initiative to maintain good 5S housekeeping and a clean and orderly work environment.\r\nTake initiative to make constructive suggestions involving safety and productivity improvements.\r\n\r\nC. Soft skills:\r\n\r\nProblem Solving\r\n\r\na. Consolidate stock items to make room for additional product storage.\r\nb. Determine appropriate stocking location for product.\r\n\r\nTeamwork\r\nWork closely with other material handlers and production personnel to ensure timely transfer of product to warehouse.\r\nWork closely with Production Department to ensure timely and accurate reporting of product receipt locations.\r\nCommunication\r\nMaintain good communication with Supervisors and others. Report all problems or potential problems and delays to Department Lead or Supervisor.\r\nCommunicate all pertinent warehouse information to oncoming shift.\r\nTraining\r\nAssists with training of less experienced material handlers.\r\n\r\nD. Leadership Skills:\r\n\r\nThe ability to follow directions given by a lead or manager.\r\nThe ability to be a positive example to peers (Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Housekeeping) with minimal supervision. The ability to promote teamwork in your department.\r\n\r\nE. Additional Qualifications:\r\n\r\nEducation: Equivalent of High School education in English, Math, verbal and written communication skills.\r\nJob Experience:\r\nRequired: Entry Level position. 6 months experience in manufacturing.\r\nPreferred: 6 months to 1 year warehousing experience including forklift certification and computer experience.\r\nShift Availability:\r\nFirst Shift: 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.\r\nOvertime Requirements: Overtime and Weekends as needed.\r\nWorking Conditions: Warehouse environment, requires lifting up to 50 lbs. physically demanding work. Extensive walking and standing on cement floors.
