Our more than 6,000 employees are proud to work at our state-of-the-art sawmills and other facilities, including: manufacturing, custom wood-framed windows, fabrication, millwork, veneer, cogeneration, trucking, forestry, and other operations.\n\nThe Environmental Coordinator is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving environmental compliance and operational programs at our division in Eugene, Oregon.\n\nAbout the Position\n\nLead site environmental programs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements\n\nInterpret permits and regulations and translate requirements into practical, executable site actions\n\nMaintain and manage air, water, and hazardous materials permits, including data collection, analysis, and regulatory reporting\n\nEffectively collaborate and maintain relationships with regulatory inspections and agency interactions\n\nIdentify compliance risks, develop corrective actions, and drive implementation to closure\n\nConduct audits of site programs and processes to verify compliance and effectiveness\n\nCoordinate environmental monitoring, sampling, and recordkeeping systems\n\nSupport development and execution of environmental improvement and remedial action projects\n\nEnsure required environmental training is scheduled, conducted, and documented\n\nMaintain emergency response readiness and support incident response activities as needed\n\nSupervise crews or contractors supporting environmental or compliance-related work\n\nCollaborate with Environmental Coordinators across other divisions to maintain consistency and share best practices\n\nMaintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program and related hazard communication requirements\n\nFlexibility in work schedule to effectively interact with multiple mills, crews and shifts, with availability to respond to emergencies 24/7\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, significantly related technical field, or equivalent progressive experience\n\n4 years of relevant environmental, industrial, or technical experience\n\nWorking knowledge of air and/or water permitting and compliance programs preferred\n\nDemonstrated ability to independently manage responsibilities, analyze problems, and implement solutions\n\nStrong judgment and decision-making skills in operational environments\n\nEffective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical requirements clearly and concisely\n\nProven leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities\n\nMechanical or industrial operations understanding sufficient to evaluate environmental impacts\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn site-specific reporting systems\n\nWhy Join Our Team?\nBecause this is more than an invitation, it's a commitment to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth to everyone!
