The role focuses on evaluating hardware and software to ensure mission success and supporting system safety across all development phases.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDevelop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).\n\nPrepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and other safety review meetings.\n\nSupport development and updating of System Safety documents to meet Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements.\n\nReview and provide input to test procedures to ensure adherence to System Safety requirements.\n\nCoordinate with test range safety teams and write range safety reports to support testing.\n\nAssist in the development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) to document real and potential hazards, assessments, and mitigations.\n\nCreate Fault Trees to support Safety Board Interactions.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college.\n\nKnowledge of System Safety Standards and design and operational safety principles, including experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, and associated deliverable documentation.\n\nAbility to obtain Secret Clearance and US Citizenship (not required to start).\n\nDesired Skills\n\nExperience using MIL‑STD‑882E, SSMAN 91‑710, NASA GSFC‑STD‑8009, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards.\n\nExperience presenting in DoD System Safety Working Groups and Safety Boards.\n\nFamiliarity with DOORS and/or Cameo.\n\nEffective communication skills and ability to engage with team members, development organizations, and customers.\n\nProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).\n\nActive Secret clearance (preferred).\n\nSecurity Clearance\nRequires a government Security Clearance (Secret). US citizenship is required for consideration; not required to start. This position requires a government security clearance.\n\nLocation & Schedule\nOnsite Full‑time: Works on site at the Lockheed Martin facility in Denver, CO. Schedule: 9x80 with every other Friday off.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary range $89,300–$157,550 (states listed: Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, etc.).
