Trainer
ExtraMile Convenience Stores LLC is a joint venture owned by Chevron and Jacksons Food Stores. The ExtraMile network is currently made up of more than 1,000 convenience stores in 11 States in the West, the PacNW, Mountain West, Southwest, and the Southeast. The growth of the Company has resulted in opportunities to expand the ExtraMile brand within the current footprint, as well as to other states – resulting in exciting new employment opportunities.
The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering training to employees and new-to ExtraMile teams. This role ensures that Franchisees are properly trained in company procedures, policies, and operational standards. Trainers work closely with Franchise Business Consultants, Pricebook, and the Rebates team to provide support, training, and issue resolution when needed.
The Training Specialist will be based in the Northern California area.
What will I do as a Field Trainer?
Supports the ExtraMile BOS (Back Office System) deployment including pre-deployment activities (scheduling, communication, tracking, etc.) on-site installation support, training, and issue resolution.
Supports the day-to-day BOS system by fielding Franchise Business Consultant and Franchisee questions.
Interacts with Pricebook and Rebates teams as well as BOS support.
Helps prepare new-to-ExtraMile stores with in-store merchandising training, particularly around food service procedures in the final stages of a new site’s conversion to ExtraMile.
Models high standards required of ExtraMile in the areas of food service and dispensed beverages to ensure the sites are prepared to properly execute the programs.
Up to 70% travel to all states in which we operate.
When not in the field, works in a home-office environment.
Provide best-in-class service to our franchisees.
Accurately document post-installation training for each store for all operations stakeholders.
Participates in special projects or additional tasks as requested.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
A minimum of three years’ previous convenience store manager or equivalent experience in your field.
Knowledge of convenience store retail or related operations.
ServSafe Certification for safe food handling is preferred.
Knowledge of the PDI BOS.
Network or computer installation or repair background.
A vehicle in good working order, fully insured and can handle longer commutes.
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields – Computer, IT, Retail, Marketing, Business

Technical expertise with computers and can easily pick up concepts trained for the back-office system.
Proficiency in training back-office system & food Service concepts to retailers.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Comfort in speaking in front of groups, small and large.
A minimum of three years’ retail training or food service training experience.
Intermediate level competency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
