CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN THE OFFICE.Position SummaryThe successful applicant will be a Substance Abuse Regulatory Specialist who ensures substance abuse treatment services comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.Core ResponsibilitiesLicensing, monitoring, and evaluating substance abuse treatment programs for regulatory compliance using Chapter 397 F.S., Chapter 65D-30 F.A.C., and CFOP 155-31.Review provider applications and monitor locations; license providers yearly per licensing standards.Generate monitoring reports and corrective action reports as required.Develop proficiency with the Provider Licensing and Designation System (PLADS) and ensure licensure and fine payments are entered correctly.Oversee designation/re-designation of Baker Act Receiving Facilities to ensure compliance under Chapter 394 F.S. and 65E-12 F.A.C.Use time-management, conflict-resolution, cultural-competency, customer-service, ethical conduct, computer literacy, and strong communication skills.Contribute to statewide licensure calls conducted monthly.Review SA and MH IRAS reports of assigned providers for additional information or investigation.Collaborate with community partners such as AHCA and Managing Entity (e.g., audits, investigations, complaints).Create and maintain community partnerships; attend community and committee meetings and training opportunities.Travel as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge:Chapter 397, F.S., and 65D-30, F.A.C.Behavioral health disorders (substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders)Substance abuse and mental health providers in the local communityCurrent substance abuse and mental health systems of careApplicable state, federal, and local laws, statutes, and regulationsMethods for compiling, organizing, and analyzing dataAbilities:Use computers, Microsoft Office, and other required equipmentDevelop methods for monitoring and evaluating quality of service and regulatory complianceTravel frequently in the local areaAnalyze and use informationCommunicate effectively in a business environmentUse problem-solving techniquesWork independently and as part of a teamSkills:Proficiency with PLADSStrong negotiating skillsOrganize and prioritize work assignmentsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (human services, social work, or social sciences) or two to three years' experience in the substance abuse treatment field, or one to three years' experience in regulatory or contract auditing.No disciplinary actions in the past twelve months.Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.BenefitsHealth insuranceLife insurance: $25,000 free policy plus option to purchase additional coverageDental, vision, and supplemental insuranceRetirement plan options with employer contributions (see www.myfrs.com)Nine paid holidays and one personal holiday each yearFlexible Spending AccountsOpportunities for career advancementTuition waiver for public college coursesLegal NoticesUS CITIZEN REQUIREMENT – Only U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized alien workers will be hired.SELECTIVE SERVICE SYSTEM REGISTRATION – All selected male candidates born on or after Oct. 1, 1962 must be registered with the Selective Service System.
