If you have excellent research and writing skills, can easily use today’s technology, and communicate effectively across all levels, we would love to connect!Compensation$110,000 - $190,000 yearlyResponsibilitiesAnalyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategiesComplete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefsGet the appropriate legal documents ready for clients, such as brief, motions, and pleadings, as well as correspondenceCounsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcomeManage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerksManage a docket of personal injury cases from intake through resolutionPrepare demands, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documentsConduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trialsDevelop a case strategy and advise clients accordinglyNegotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriersSupervise support staff as necessary (e.g., paralegals, case managers)Maintain accurate and timely case records using legal case management softwareQualificationsMinimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environmentGraduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 yearsWell-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills requiredKnowledge of Microsoft Office programs is neededJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in Colorado and in good standingMinimum of 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injuryDemonstrated trial and courtroom experienceStrong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment with little supervisionClient-focused, ethical, and driven to achieve justiceAbout CompanyAdmitted to the Bar in 1991, Timothy Bussey is an experienced criminal and civil trial lawyer who has been a prosecutor, defense attorney, Active-Duty Judge Advocate with the US Air Force, and a District Attorney in El Paso and Teller County.
