This is a key role at the heart of our daily operations — the Dispatcher coordinates the scheduling and delivery of ready-mix concrete from our plant to job sites across the region, ensuring every load arrives on time, to the right place, with the right mix. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate well under pressure, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly, we want to hear from you.\n\nWhy Basic Ready-Mix?\n\nLocally operated, team-first culture\nStable, year-round employment\nCompetitive hourly pay, DOE\nOpportunities to grow within the company\n\nWork alongside experienced plant and ops teams\nBe the hub that keeps daily operations moving\nMonday–Friday schedule (some Saturdays as needed)\nCalhoun and Dalton office locations\n\nKey Responsibilities\nOrder Management & Scheduling\nReceive and process customer concrete orders, confirming mix design, yardage, delivery time, and job site details.\nEnter all orders accurately into the dispatch system and generate complete delivery tickets for the plant.\nCoordinate with CSRs and the Plant Manager to verify next-day orders and flag discrepancies before the shift begins.\nDynamically adjust truck schedules throughout the day to meet changing job site demands and pour windows.\nManage Will Call orders — do not dispatch until the customer's trigger call is received.\nDriver & Fleet Coordination\nAssign and dispatch mixer truck drivers to job sites based on schedule, geography, and truck availability.\nMonitor truck status in real time to maintain on-time delivery performance and maximize truck utilization.\nCommunicate driver start times, job assignments, and return instructions clearly throughout the shift.\nCoordinate inter-plant truck swaps with Plant Manager and General Manager approval when needed.\nTrack and document driver hours, load counts, and yardage against daily performance goals.\nCustomer & Field Communication\nServe as the primary point of contact for customers calling to check on delivery status or make order changes.\nProactively notify customers and salespeople when a delivery is running behind schedule — never wait for them to call.\nResolve delivery conflicts, access issues, or load discrepancies quickly and professionally.\nSupport COD order management — confirm payment arrangements are in place before trucks are dispatched.\nDocumentation & Compliance\nMaintain accurate daily dispatch logs including order details, driver assignments, delivery times, and any incidents.\nSubmit the COD log daily — even when there is no COD activity to report.\nAssist with the Daily Operations Report and other morning paperwork as needed.\nEnsure driver activity aligns with DOT hours-of-service guidelines and company policy.\n\nKEY GOAL\n\nDispatcher performance is measured by on-time delivery rate, truck utilization (target: 4 loads/driver/day, 7 yds avg/load), and customer satisfaction. You are the link between the plant and the job site.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nStrong communication skills — clear, calm, and professional under pressure.\nAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-moving environment.\nBasic math skills for tracking loads, yardage, and driver schedules.\nComfortable using computers, dispatch software, and phones simultaneously.\nReliable, punctual, and self-directed — this role requires minimal supervision.\nPreferred\nPrior dispatching, logistics, or construction industry experience.\nFamiliarity with ready-mix concrete operations, batching, or delivery logistics.\nExperience with dispatch or plant management software (GEN3, Command, or similar).\nKnowledge of the local road network and job site access considerations.\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\n\nWork Setting\n\nPrimarily office/dispatch desk at the Calhoun or Dalton plant facility.\n\nHours\n\nFull-time, hourly.
