In 2002, Acumera became our client's trusted network partner.\nWhat we're looking for:\nAcumera is a leader in providing converged infrastructure solutions to the retail and hospitality industry. Our customers are some of the largest and best known global store, restaurant, and hospitality brands. Our solution is built on a cutting edge Linux based virtualization stack that features total management through a devops driven infrastructure. We design, develop, and maintain a software stack that includes a core virtualization solution built on Debian Linux with OpenVZ, LXC, and KVM, with supporting management code built in Puppet and Ruby. Our back-end management environment includes Ruby Rails, and Redis components. The Linux Systems Engineer performs production systems integration work involving Linux, networking, open source tools, and automation to implement our solutions.This position is open to local Texas or Florida candidates. We have offices located in Austin, Texas and Tallahassee, Florida. This role requires hybrid flexibility with 2-3 days a week onsite.\nResponsibilities:\nWork directly with clients or project manager to integrate the Redbox solution into their environment for their needs.\nUpdate any additional security settings for the enterprise firewalls\nDemonstrate best-practice knowledge and apply skills to deliver an effective solution specific to client needs.\nInterface with development team on projects for clients as well as QA.\nSome occasional travel to client sites may be required\nSuccess Metrics:\nSuccessfully engages in several simultaneous initiatives\nDelivers projects on time\nDelivers quality implementations\nAbility to work as a member of an integrated team\nQualifications:\nExperience with medium to large scale production environments.\nHigh level of knowledge of Linux systems and services, particularly network services such as iptables, bind, quagga, etc\nStrong skills in scripting and development of systems automation tools (using bash, Ruby, etc.)\nFamiliarity with any of Hiera, Redis, or Postgres a plus\nFamiliarity with Git or other version/code management a plus\nExcellent interpersonal and communications skills\nAbility to solve problems quickly and automate processes\nMinimum 4 years of hands-on Linux Systems Administration experience\nExperience with log analysis, monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. Splunk/Sensu/etc)\nExcellent understanding of networking including TCP/IP, routing, routing protocols, firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs (both SSL and IPSEC)\nExperience with AWS EC2 services.\nExperience with systems automation (e.g. Puppet/Chef/Ansible/Salt), Puppet experience a plus.\nSolid grasp of security concepts and technologies.\nAbility to work as a team as well as individually\nComfortable working in a small company where you may be asked to wear multiple hats.\nExperience with lower powered devices and system tuning.\nUnderstanding of virtualization, experience with QEMU/KVM,\nExperience with payment processing or PCI a plus\nCISSP, or other Security certificates is a plus\nPerks of Acumera:\nHealth benefits start on day one.\n401(k), FSA, HSA\nCasual dress code\nFully stocked kitchen\nVibrant and Inclusive Workplace Atmosphere\nPaid company holidays\nDiscretionary time off policy\nCentral Austin location with free parking\nFlexible work environment and an opportunity to grow as we grow.\n\nAcumera is an equal opportunity employer.
