The Program Educator will lead classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical education while fostering critical thinking, clinical excellence, and professional behavior among students entering the EMS workforce.\nThe ideal candidate is a dynamic instructor with strong teaching ability, a deep understanding of prehospital medicine, and a commitment to educational excellence and student success.\nRole and Responsibilities\nServe as primary or adjunct instructor for EMT and Advanced EMT coursesin accordance withArkansas EMS regulations.\nDeliver engaging classroom lectures, hands-on skills labs, scenario-based simulations, and clinical preparation aligned with theNational Registry.\nDesign and implement effective educational strategies, including simulation, case-based learning, and competency-based assessment.\nDevelop lesson plans, instructional materials, and course assessments that meet Arkansas Department of Health EMS program requirements.\nEnsure all EMS education courses receiveappropriate approvalfrom the Arkansas Office of EMS prior to course delivery.\nCoordinate andmonitorclinical and field internship experiences with hospitals and EMS agencies.\nEvaluate student performance using written exams, psychomotor testing, and scenario-based assessments.\nProvide constructive feedback and mentorship to support student success, professional growth, and clinical competence.\nMaintainaccuraterecords of student progress, attendance, clinical hours, and competency evaluations.\nEnsure students meet all course completion requirements necessary to challenge the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) certification examination.\nCollaborate with theEducationDirector, Medical Director, and EMS leadership tomaintainaccreditation and regulatory compliance.\nParticipate in continuous program quality improvement and curriculum development.\nPromote professionalism, patient safety, ethical practice, and evidence-based EMS care.\nRepresent the program during community outreach, recruitment events, and EMS continuing education programs.\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nCurrent Arkansas EMS provider license at the AEMT or Paramedic level\nCurrent Arkansas EMS Instructor certification\nMinimum two (2) years continuous experience as an EMS provider prior to instructor certification\nSuccessful completion of an Arkansas Office of EMS approved 40-hour EMT Instructor Courseor ability torecivein30 daysfrom hire.\nCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification through American Heart Association or ability to receive in30 daysfrom hire.\nAbility to function as a primary instructor for EMT programs and instructor at AEMT level or higher for AEMT programs as required by Arkansas EMS rules, or ability to receive30 daysfrom hire.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to teach adult learners using evidence-based educational methods\nStrong organizational and documentation skills\nGraduation From High School or equivalent\n19 years old or older at time of hire for insurance purposes\nValidDriver’slicense\nAbility to drive company vehicles with a clean driving record.\nAvailability for recall in times of crisis\nAbility to pass a lift test of 150 – 200 pounds.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment background check.\nAbility to speak, read, and write English.\nWorking Conditions\nPeriodic clinical site visits and field internship supervision\nOccasional evening or weekend instruction depending on course schedule\nFrequent standing, movement during practical skills labs, and simulation instruction\nPossible travelto partner hospitals, EMS agencies, or training sites\nPreferred Skills\nPrior experience teaching EMT or AEMT courses at an accredited EMS training program\nStrong adult education and instructional design skills\nExperience with simulation-based training and scenario development\nAbility to engage diverse learners and foster critical thinking\nExperience mentoring new EMS providers or precepting students\nCurrent instructor credentials such as:\nACLS Instructor\nPALS Instructor\nITLS / PHTLS Instructor\nBachelor’s degree or higher in EMS, education, healthcare, or related field\nStrong commitment to student success, patient care excellence, and professional development\nAbility to create a high-performance learning environment that produces confident, competent EMS clinicians\nWe'd love to have you join the WLRC Medic One team!\nPay: $80,000.00 -
