They will also develop, improve, and document build processes and procedures. They will be responsible for software source code, change control, configuration, build and deployment process for Drupal based applications.\n\nThe DevOps engineer will be responsible for working with Development team, Linux to lead patch efforts and removing any impediments for the development team on Linux and Kubernetes platform.\nThe DevOps engineer will be responsible for working with the Solution Architecture, VMWare, and Development teams to manage the Web Services client images and ensure timely patches and updates are provided.\nProvide expert support in analysis and reporting of web-related activities and projects throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. Communicate complex and/or technical information to a broad range of audiences.\nThe DevOps engineer will be responsible for ensuring critical patches are coordinated, tested and applied to the client Drupal platform within reasonable time.\n\nGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nWork effectively and collaboratively with Web Services colleagues on assigned projects and activities.\nMaintain professional relationships with customers, management, colleagues and deliver high-quality customer service.\nEnable automation of triggers and alerts when deploying applications through environments\nConfigure automated testing and deployment processes\nDesign and document the DevOps process\nAutomate Developer’s everyday operations with scripts or templates\nRecommend to management development approaches and strategies for applications and services provided to the client customers.\nWork closely with management, project managers and members of the Development Team to develop detailed specification documents\n\nSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop scripts to do Continuous Integration and Development using Gitlab CI/CD or other similar tools;\nConfigure and Setup systems built in Drupal and PHP based framework across environments;\nCollaborate with development, QA, release engineering, site support, and infrastructure teams to maintain high-quality deployment artifacts as it moves through deployment pipeline;\nDocument all DevOps and Continuous Integration processes on Sharepoint;\nDevelop and fix monitoring systems to ensure availability of production systems;\nDevelop and implement centralized logging and monitoring tool;\nInstall application patches on applications built on Drupal;\nLead production deployment efforts with Development Team by creating change requests, deployment and rollback strategy and testing to ensure successful deployments to production environments;\nWork with Linux team and Drupal vendors to coordinate patch deployments and remove any impediments for development team and requests made by Development team.\nWork with the Solution Architecture team, VM Tanzu team and Development team to ensure patching and updates are applied to the Container images.\nDebug application performance issues and provide recommendation on optimizing the performance.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.\n3-5 years of experience managing diverse DevOps workloads, across infrastructure, administration, deployment, development support and monitoring.\n3 years of experience with automation and configuration management using Ansible\n1-3 years of Linux administration experience.\n3+ years of experience working with containerization, orchestration, and service discovery experience on Linux hosts, using docker, ECS or EKS.\n1-3 years of experience with Gitlab or similar version control systems, including branching, tagging, merging, and release management.\nAt least three (3) years of experience building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or Gitlab Pipelines\nExperience with Docker, deploying containers, automated build deployments.\n\nSPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS\nUnderstanding of the Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle;\nHands on experience in building and maintaining websites using Drupal CMS and supporting tools like Memcached, Varnish, Load Balancers, SOLR, CDNs;\nDemonstrated experience in deploying and configuring applications on Kubernetes and Linux environments;\nExperience with automation tools like Ansible or equivalent;\nStrong understanding and familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux systems administration;\nExperience with application containerization (Docker) and infrastructure as code solutions;\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills;\nEqually comfortable working on a project team as well as independently;\nExcellent organization, planning, prioritizing skills and attention to detail;\nExperience in setting up and deploying applications on PaaS or IaaS cloud offerings;\nExperience in administration of source code management tools like Git.\n\nNotes:\n\nThe contractor personnel will be required to work 40 hours per week.
