These volunteer opportunities allow community members to assist police personnel with routine tasks, improving efficiency and contributing to the department's overall mission.Essential DutiesAuxiliary Patrol Functions:Proactive patrol in a marked auxiliary vehicleAssist with traffic control on police scenes and during eventsParticipate in police-related community eventsAssist in routine tasks around the departmentAssist with fleet maintenanceRequirements for this role include:Ability to lift 30-50 poundsAbility to operate an auxiliary marked patrol vehicleAbility to communicate clearly through police radiosAbility to take direction and adhere to chain of command during field operations Volunteers in this unit must:Possess valid driver's licenseFollow oral and written instructions accuratelyPossess strong communication skills, both oral and written Commitment:A minimum of one year of service is required, with a commitment of at least 16 hours per month. Exceptions for fewer hours may be considered based on department needs and the volunteer's residency status. Days of Work Week:Monday through Thursday Hours:7:00 am - 5:00 pmMinimum QualificationsTo participate in these volunteer opportunities, individuals must meet the following criteria:Age: Must be 18 years or older.Background Check: Volunteers must pass a thorough background investigation, fingerprint clearance, and oral board interviews.
