In-Service Testing (IST) Engineer12-Month Contract-to HireHybrid Schedule | Richmond, VA - Surry, VA – North Anna, VA Job Summary Our Fortune 300 Utility client's Nuclear Engineering and Fuel department is seeking a motivated and experienced engineer. The single role (“Fleet Lead Engineer”) will be filled at either the Staff or Senior Engineer level commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and education. The role will be based at the Innsbrook office in Glen Allen, VA but will provide expertise to the fleet of four nuclear power stations.IST Fleet Lead Responsibilities The Fleet Lead Engineer will be one of two team members who focus on the nuclear division’s In-Service Testing (IST) and Appendix J Programs, and they will be responsible for program governance, oversight, and performance as they relate to the fleet’s seven nuclear reactors. The Fleet Lead Engineer is responsible for the following key activities associated with management and implementation of the two programs:Providing oversight for major site/fleet program activitiesCoordinating, developing, and maintaining procedures governing the IST ProgramEnsuring the stations have a common, consistent approach for handling ISTMonitoring completion of fleet commitments for the IST Program implementationProviding support for the periodic IST Program health reportsCoordinating responses to findings that impact fleet processes or proceduresReviewing engineering products such as design changes, engineering technical evaluations and industry operating experience for impact on the IST ProgramProviding oversight of and support for testing and inspection activities associated with IST components, including technical direction on ASME OM Code compliance, establishing or authorizing use of industry-accepted methodologies for the IST Program and reviewing IST Program Plans and bases as necessaryLeading program self-assessments that include all Dominion Energy plant sitesCoordinating peer group meetings and program-related trainingAttending appropriate industry meetings on behalf of Dominion Energy. Appendix J Fleet Lead Responsibilities Maintaining App J Program procedures and program documentsInitiating and supporting Licensing changesReviewing daily site CR report, Appendix J Owner’s Group (APOG) participation (benchmark inquiries and annual meeting)Leading program self-assessmentsPreparing program health report (outage frequency)Training and mentoring of personnelSupporting emergent outage App J issuesSupporting review of completed App J related test packages which includes test data entry and trendingDeveloping/determining LLRT/ILRT requirements for post maintenance testing (PMT) Preparing INPO IRIS report for failed LLRT/ILRTPreparing evaluations for use as is disposition on margin lossPlanning and scheduling of all Appendix J Program Tests in accordance with applicable governing documentsEvaluating Appendix J component leakage history and modifying test frequencies accordinglyEvaluating the Administrative Leakage Limits periodically for revisions based on historical performance. Education Requirements Required degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, orHolds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
