This role contributes to the development of embedded firmware, Linux-based applications, and hardware integration efforts while supporting system architecture initiatives.\n\nThe successful candidate will develop new features, improve existing products, support field investigations, and contribute to the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of Array's control systems.\n\nKey Job Responsibilities\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller-based control systems using C/C++.\n\nContribute to the development and implementation of control system architectures under the guidance of senior engineering staff.\n\nSupport integration of controllers, motor drivers, wireless modules, encoders, sensors, and safety components into complete control systems.\n\nDevelop and maintain Linux-based applications and utilities using Python.\n\nSupport debugging, testing, and root cause analysis of field and laboratory issues.\n\nParticipate in system validation, field testing, and product deployment activities.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on reliability, manufacturability, performance, and cost optimization.\n\nCollaborate with Product Management, Program Management, and cross-functional engineering teams to support project execution.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices initiatives.\n\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical support within the Controls Engineering team.\n\nCommunicate technical status, risks, and decisions to leadership\n\nFamiliarity with modern AI-assisted software development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar platforms.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.\n\n5+ years of relevant industry experience. A Master's degree may reduce experience requirements.\n\nStrong experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers such as STM32, Atmel, or similar platforms.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in C/C++ programming.\n\nStrong understanding of microcontroller peripherals including ADC, PWM, DMA, SPI, UART, CAN, and I2C.\n\nExperience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, or bare silicon.\n\nExperience designing, debugging, and testing embedded firmware for industrial or electromechanical systems.\n\nExperience with custom electronics development and industrial product design.\n\nExperience developing software in Linux environments with proficiency in Python.\n\nUnderstanding of communication protocols including Modbus, OPC UA, Zigbee, or similar industrial communication standards.\n\nExperience with data analysis and relational databases preferred.\n\nExperience with PLC programming, ladder logic, and industrial automation systems preferred.\n\nExperience with SCADA systems, renewable energy systems, or the solar industry preferred.\n\nFamiliarity with modern AI-assisted software development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar platforms.\n\nProven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.\n\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.\n\nNote\nThe candidate will be subjected to an in-depth technical interview in the interview process.
