This is a full-time permanent role supporting one of our teams in Chantilly, VA.\n\nThis job is a professional low voltage technical and installation position working on construction sites, health care facilities, government facilities, commercial and retail buildings.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnician under the guidance of the Foreman, Supervisor and Project Manager will be responsible for:\nThe installation, termination, and testing of low voltage cabling systems in multiple work environments to include construction and active facilities.\nTechnician must be dependable, provide necessary support to the Foreman and assist in successful implementation on the project. Technician must exhibit the ability to provide outstanding customer service and deliver project installations according to the customer’s expectations.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nTechnician must be detail oriented, analytical. Process and compliance focused. Ability to work independent of direct supervision; self-starting;\nTeam Player.\nGood organizational, written, and verbal skills (meticulous regarding documentation).\nExcellent people skills, customer oriented, willingness to help others.\nDependable, Positive and Proactive approach.\nStrong work ethic and ability to have flexible work schedule.\nTechnician must demonstrate good customer skills.\nTechnician must demonstrate that they are fully competent decision makers and demonstrate they have leadership abilities.\nTechnician must perform installations that always adheres with the Vision and industry safety requirements.\nSafety First 100%\nTechnician must be able to supervise technicians and provide OJT (On the Job Training) when required.\nTechnician must stay current with the latest technologies and installation procedures.\nTechnician must have a full understanding of the scope of work.\nTechnician must have the ability to understand and accurately complete all paperwork required of assigned project.\nTechnician must be able to run small to medium projects when required.\nRequires full understanding of the project scope of work\nTechnician must be fully competent of the Vision standard for quality installation craftsmanship and customer service excellence.\nTechnician must be fully competent at installation and termination of various copper and fiber products in accordance with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI standards.\nTechnician must be fully competent in testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cable plant systems in accordance with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI standards.\nTechnician must be fully competent at directing his team in assembling, installing, and securing various cable trays, racks, and cabinets used in telecommunications closets.\nTechnician must understand the basic principles of grounding and bonding as described in the BICSI installation methods and must be capable of properly bonding cable trays and properly grounding racks, cable trays, etc.\nTechnician must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of all Vision’s Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6 testers to include proper operation of the tester, properly saving test results and properly downloading and storing test results on the network.\nTechnician should be knowledgeable in the proper operation of Vision’s fiber power meter testers to include proper operation of the tester, properly saving test results.\nTechnician should be knowledgeable in the proper operation of an OTDR to include proper operation of the OTDR, properly saving test results.\nTechnician must be fully capable of interpreting test results from fiber and copper testers and successfully troubleshooting and properly repairing the fiber or copper cable plant to ultimately ensure a correct and valid test.\nQualifications:\n3-5 years of industry experience.\nKnowledge of fiber and copper troubleshooting is needed.\n\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or GED required\nBICSI and industry Certifications are preferred.\nThis position requires a background check and driver’s license check.\nAbility to lift various items is required, as well to stand for long periods of time and climb ladders.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands of this position are those that are necessary to meet the responsibilities and essential functions of this position.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMust be able to lift 75lbs and climb ladders as required.\n\nCertifications\nBICSI Installer 2 Copper / Fiber, Industry manufacturer certifications - preferred\nOSHA safety certification 10/30 - preferred\nHILTI powder actuated tools - preferred\nConfined Space - preferred\nAerial Lift - preferred\n\nWork Authorization\nMust be a US Citizen\n\nAdditional Perks/Benefits\nPaid Time Off & Holidays\n401K with Company Matching\nTuition & Training Reimbursement\nBirthday off with pay\nLeadership Development Training\nCompany Overview: Vision Technologies, a national and global systems integrator, provides IT services and solutions for commercial and federal clients.
