Other duties may be assigned.\r\nStrategy & Planning Work with IT Management to design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain networkcapacity meets existing and future requirements.\r\nDevelop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resourceadministration, usage, and disaster recovery.\r\nDevelop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statisticsand reports.\r\nEstablish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end-userworkstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.\r\nPractice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and relateddocumentation such as network design maps and disaster recovery plans.\r\nAcquisition & Deployment\r\nPlan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization's network.\r\nAcquisition & Deployment Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization's network.\r\nConduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in supportof network procurement and development efforts.\r\nAssess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.\r\nCommunicates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to identify and recommend products and services.\r\nCollaborates with end users and IT Management to understand the business requirements for existing or newlyimplemented systems to ensure the network capabilities needed are available.\r\nAssists with planning and deployment of departmental decisions that have been reviewed and approved by the IT Management team.\r\nOperational Management Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs,UPSs, and so on.\r\nEnsures connectivity to all application servers, databases, VoIP equipment, fax machines, printers, and othernetwork appliances.\r\nTest network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies formaintaining the network infrastructure.\r\nEnsure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detectionsystems by working with the Security Analyst and other IT Team members.\r\nPractice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.\r\nPerforms system and security audits.\r\nResearches emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurementand development efforts.\r\nCreates required reports in response to business user needs.\r\nParticipates in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.\r\nIntegrates IP telephony systems with enterprise LANs, WANs, wireless LANs, and other Internet-based servicesand protocols.\r\nMaintains operating systems and supporting software or applications associated with wired and wireless LANoperations.\r\nDirect and assist external vendors, analysts, and technicians, with any support needed for the maintenance andrepair of network hardware or systems dependent on network connectivity.\r\nProvide guidance to other members of the team when appropriate.\r\nEducation/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field.\r\nMinimum of 5 years of related work experience.\r\nEquivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.\r\nPreferred Certificate or Licenses: CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent Cisco Certification, COBIT 5 Foundation, InformationTechnology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)\r\nPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
