This role will directly report to the Engineering Team Lead. An ideal applicant will successfully complete an array of office and field tasks as needed in order to achieve project success, positive client relations, and self-fulfillment.\nJob Duties\nCommunication:\nUnder the direction of the Engineering Team Lead, Associate Engineers are expected to effectively and efficiently communicate both internally and externally. This includes:\nEngaging in daily check-ins and updates with the Engineering Team Lead and other engineers\nEmail correspondence with internal coworkers and external clients\nTracking project tasks and reviews\nFacilitating video conference meetings with coworkers\nTechnical Writing:\nFacilitating the understanding of complex, technical information for state and local agencies. The ability to prepare, review and revise the following technical documents:\nDust Control Plans\nSpill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans\nStormwater Pollution Prevention Plans\nOperation, Monitoring, and Maintenance Plans\nControl and Quality Assurance Plans\nWaste Management Plans\nNutrient Management Plans\nDairy Work Plans\nReport of Waste Discharge\nDrafting:\nDrafting with precision, accuracy and timeliness using Civil3D while meeting the standards of the company and governing entities that oversee the published documents.\nCounty and Construction Site Plans\nPlan and Profile Detail Exhibits\n2-D and 3-D Dimensioning and Detailing\nAssembly of Project Construction Sets\nDesign:\nUsing critical thinking and technical references to make design suggestions and decisions for various projects.\nOrganize and import topographic data into ACAD Software\nCreate existing surfaces from collected topographic data\nCreate proposed surfaces for earth grading or concrete construction\nCreate volume surfaces to get design quantities\nCalculate the hydraulic grade line for a proposed system\nCalculate pipe sizes and slopes\nOperate truck turning template software add on\nUnderstand and use information from geotechnical reports to make design decisions\nCalculate concrete specifications using structural design methods\nJob Requirements\nEducation:\nMust have graduated from an accredited college or university with a B.S. in Civil Engineering or a degree of equivalence\nDegree in a different engineering field will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis\nCredentials:\nPassed or planning to take Civil FE Exam\nExam in a different engineering field will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis\nKnowledge:\nPrinciples and practices of Civil Engineering as applied to public works, traffic, transportation, and wastewater engineering\nModern methods and techniques used in the design and construction of a wide variety of projects\nModern office methods and procedures\nComputer literate in use of common hardware, software, and program applications\nExperience:\nPrevious internship or job in the civil engineering field\nExperience in a different engineering field will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis\nGeneral:\nMust have a passion for agriculture\nMust be willing to do construction quality assurance when low on Field Technician labor capacity\nPossession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license by time of appointment\nBenefits\nFull employee health, vision and dental coverage (PPO plans available at no cost to employee)\n401(k) plan with 4% company match\nProfit sharing\nCell phone plan reimbursement\nPaid time off\nApparel allotment\nCompany paid certification opportunities\nComplimentary coffee/snack/drink assortment\nSmaller firm, with great opportunity for career advancement and growth\nCover letters are preferred for this role.
