Interns will gain valuable experience in managing all aspects of a home-based sheltering and adoption program.\n\nAll internships are unpaid, but course credit can be arranged. Upon successful completion of an internship, interns may also request a letter of recommendation from their supervisor.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nWork closely with Foster Program Coordinator to ensure foster-care providers’ success\n\nCoach foster-care providers and lead foster training sessions\n\nCommunicate with potential and current foster-care providers\n\nWork closely with veterinary staff to ensure optimal foster-animal health\n\nWork closely with behavior staff to ensure optimal foster-animal enrichment and behavioral support\n\nWork closely with adoption center staff to ensure excellent adoption matches\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\nComfortable learning new computer programs\n\nComfortable working with a diverse population of animals and people\n\nAble to commit to 3+ months\n\nAble to commit to 10+ hours per week, including some weekends\n\nAble to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and push moderately heavy objects\n\nNo allergic conditions which would be aggravated by animals in our care\n\nBerkeley Humane is an Equal Opportunity Organization for Volunteers and Staff\n\nBerkeley Humane is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
