FDR is the High-Performance Storage Management solutions from BMC.\r\nJob Responsibilities:Lead the technical team, high level and low-level architecting and developing a new product from scratch in the world of Storage management.\r\nTackle complex problems that require in-depth knowledge of z/OS internals.\r\nCollaborate across different BMC product lines, including new function development and product maintenance, and communicate with various teams to resolve customer issues.\r\nWork on a broad array of critical, unique issues and complex programs/solutions.\r\nExhibit a passion for developing high-quality software design and architecture, coding complex modules that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.\r\nIdentify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.\r\nDevelop tools and applications by producing safe and clean efficient code.\r\nAutomate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.\r\nPerform unit/module testing to identify errors and confirm programs meet specifications.\r\nStay up to date with new technology and teach other developers how to incorporate new trends.\r\nFix bugs, add enhancements, and convert software to other platforms.\r\nGenerate ideas with team members and offer insightful solutions.\r\nMentor less experienced colleagues.\r\nTroubleshoot complex problems at both application and systems levels.\r\nLead the development team on technology front.\r\nRequired Skills:20+ years of experience designing, testing, and implementing mainframe OEM vendor products and system exits in an IBM z/OS environment.\r\nExtensive experience coding MVS Assembler using MVS supervisor services, cross memory services and data management facilities.\r\nExtensive experience in a combination of the following - JCL, VSAM, JES2/3, SDSF, ISPF, REXX, and/or C programming.\r\nDiagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills using IPCS, GTF, and XDC.\r\nExperience in QA principles, including test planning, test cases creation, execution, test results documentation & defect reporting.\r\nKnowledge of storage management/administration (DFSMS, DFSMS/HSM, virtual tape systems, DASD).\r\nThe ability to work independently, solve complex problems and effectively reassess work priorities.\r\nKnowledge of z/OS Internals, Channel program, I/O and Control blocks.\r\nExperience supporting and developing MVS systems software.\r\nNice to have skills:Knowledge of trimodal instructions, access register mode, SRB and zIIP processing.\r\nExperience with working on BMC AMI FDR products.\r\nOur commitment to you!\r\nBMC’s culture is built around its people.
