(MBA CSi) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a long-term, multi-year engagement with the United States Postal Service (USPS) in Merrifield, VA. In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance enterprise-scale software solutions that support mission-critical USPS systems. You'll work onsite at USPS Engineering Systems Headquarters alongside a highly collaborative team, contributing to modernization efforts and improving the performance and reliability of legacy and new applications. Responsibilities Design, develop, modify, and implement software applications across enterprise systems. Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment. Support installation and maintenance of software applications and operating systems. Provide hands-on technical support to development teams and project stakeholders. Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions. Apply sound technical judgment and creativity in fast-paced development and R&D environments. Integrate applications with system interfaces, APIs, and messaging platforms such as Kafka. Serve as a senior technical contributor, reporting to the development team lead. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering or related field. Must be familiar with Microsoft Web Forms design and development. Must be familiar with designing and developing REST API in.NET. Familiarity with Oracle is a plus. Strong experience with C# and the.NET platform. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Web Forms design and development. Experience designing and developing REST APIs using.NET. Experience with web application and web services development, including XML and JSON. Proficiency using Microsoft Visual Studio with Team Foundation Server (TFS) for source control. Experience with C#.NET database interface design and SQL commands. Hands-on experience with C# WinForms, including kiosk-style applications. Experience with multi-threaded C# application design. Experience working in Windows environments (Windows 10, Windows Server). Strong understanding of software development best practices and SDLC processes. Ability to clearly explain technical concepts such as REST APIs, Web Forms, and database interactions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Oracle databases and ability to work with Oracle environments. Experience with Microsoft Entity Framework. Familiarity with WPF and modern UI technologies. Exposure to Section 508 accessibility standards. Experience integrating with Kafka or other messaging systems. Knowledge of additional programming languages or hardware driver development. Ability to demonstrate current or recent development work (e.g., code samples, portfolio).
