With a primary focus on our altOS Platform mobile device operating system, the successful candidate will work with us to create, customize, and monitor security-hardened software on mobile devices.\n\nThe Senior Android Platform Developer will collaborate with server developers, application developers, engineers, and other technical teams to develop and extend our secure Android platform.\n\nIf you have a solid software development background and a passion for developing and extending the Android platform, we encourage you to apply.\n\nLocation: Remote\n\nResponsibilities:\nSupport and extend altOS, our custom Android distribution designed with security and privacy front of mind.\nDesign and build advanced Android applications that provide features and extensions to the base operating system.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.\nPerform product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta projects on a custom Android ROM/distribution.\nWork with the Application and Server teams to develop unique OS and Android framework features not possible in standard Android applications.\nContinuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.\nQualifications:\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nUniversity degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in the field.\nMinimum of five years of experience in Android-related product development.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nExperience compiling, modifying, and installing/flashing the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).\nExperience with Linux operating system development, or one of its derivatives, including syncing, building, debugging, modifying, and contributing to it.\nExperience porting Android ROMs to new devices, flashing devices with Android System ROMs, or contributing to open-source aftermarket Android distributions such as LineageOS or Paranoid Android.\nExperience with the Android SDK and Android Studio.\nExperience with Git or another source control system.\nProficiency in Java, C, and C++.\nLinux kernel development experience is a plus.\nFamiliarity with Android platform architecture.\nFamiliarity with Android device management technology, including DevicePolicyManager and MDM APIs.\nSkills in Bash scripting, Makefiles, and Perl/Python.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.\nHigh degree of initiative and creativity, with the ability to suggest new approaches to problems and develop innovative applications.\nTeam-oriented with the ability to work cooperatively with personnel across various departments.\nExcellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.\nStrong attention to detail.\n\nAt this time, CIS Mobile will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.\n\nCLEARANCE:\nThis position does not require an active security clearance at the time of application.\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.\nFrequently must use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.\nRequired to sit, stand, and walk.\nSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nThis position is currently performed remotely.\nThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as can be expected in a typical office environment.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nBenefits:\nWHAT WE OFFER:\n\nAt CIS Secure, we believe in promoting fair and transparent pay practices.
