GROCERY DEPARTMENT MANAGERReports to: Store DirectorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSUMMARYThe Grocery Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the grocery department, ensuring products are well-stocked, organized, and merchandised to maximize sales. This role involves managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining department standards to provide a clean and efficient shopping experience. The Grocery Department Manager plays a key role in meeting sales goals, controlling costs, and ensuring excellent customer service. By leading a team and optimizing department performance, this position helps create a smooth and enjoyable experience for both customers and employee-owners.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee daily operations of the grocery departmentManage department sales, inventory levels, conduct ordering, and minimize waste to maintain profitabilityProvide outstanding customer serviceMaintain high standards for product presentation, ensuring displays are fresh, attractive, and well-stocked to maximize salesMonitor sales, analyze trends, and implement strategies to drive department profitabilityAddress customer inquiries, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive shopping experienceEnsure proper storage and rotation of products to maintain quality and minimize shrinkageCollaborate with store leadership on pricing, promotions, and marketing initiativesSupervise, train, lead and develop grocery department employee-ownersEnsure adherence to company policies, regulations and food safety guidelinesMaintain a clean and organized department; properly dispose of product packaging and other wasteCollaborate with store leadershipPerform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
