Scheduling, planning and assigning duties of staff Technologists to meet patient care requirements and conducting staff meetings as appropriate.\n\nWorking in cooperation with other Coordinators to assist and direct the staff Technologists in completing all required work appropriately and in a timely and orderly manner.\n\nEnsuring the quality of diagnostic imaging procedures by utilizing equipment, other available resources, techniques and protocols to identify problems and evaluate services. Also taking appropriate corrective action to resolve problems.\n\nAssisting departmental management in interviewing, hiring, orienting, coaching, conducting performance appraisals, training and counseling Technologists.\n\nInstructing all subordinate personnel in safe radiation practices regarding both patients and personnel.\n\nOverseeing and ensuring proper treatment of patients while in the department; also assisting with the completion of incident reports on any injuries sustained in the department.\n\nMonitoring and reporting operational and functional instrumentation problems and any equipment in need of repair to the appropriate personnel; also recommending the purchase of new equipment and the maintenance of existing equipment and ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies.\n\nInstructing students and new staff members in clinical imaging procedures and serving as a resource to staff Technologists; also working with the Clinical Instructor and department management to develop in-service educational programs as needed.\n\nParticipates in departmental management activities and supports the management team by:\n\nActing as a role model by complying with policies, procedures and practices related to departmental operations.\n\nAttending management staff meetings as directed.\n\nRecommending, and assisting with the implementation of, departmental policies and procedures.\n\nProviding input into the budgeting and capital equipment planning process.\n\nParticipating in the development and maintenance of Quality Assurance programs to ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO), NRC and other regulatory agencies, as well as to safeguard patients, personnel and equipment.\n\nRegularly performing a variety of routine and complex diagnostic imaging procedures as a staff Technologist.\n\nPerforms other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:\n\nCompleting job-related assignments and special projects as directed.\n\nOrganizational Responsibilities\nAssociate Complies With The Following Organizational Requirements\n\nAttends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.\n\nCompletes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.\n\nCompletes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.\n\nMaintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.\n\nDirect patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.\n\nConsistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.\n\nAdheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.\n\nComplies with established organization and department policies.\n\nAvailable to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.\n\nCommitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way\n\nLeverage innovation everywhere.\n\nCultivate human talent.\n\nEmbrace performance improvement.\n\nBuild greatness through accountability.\n\nUse information to improve and advance.\n\nCommunicate clearly and continuously.\n\nEducation And Experience\n\nThe knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an associate degree or equivalent from an approved school of radiology, nuclear medicine or ultrasound. Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registered in ultrasound, physics or similar governing agencies is required.
